Pentel Vicuna Advanced Ink Ballpoint Pen, Extra Fine Line, 0.5mm, Black Ink, Box of 12 (BX155A-A)

I had just about given up on ever finding a quality pen with an extra fine point. I've tried so many prior, and all fo them either skipped ink or were uncomfortable to hold. I almost didn't order this product, thinking I would be stuck with an entire box of worthless pens.Boy, was I pleasantly surprised! Ink flow is very smooth and consistent, and this pen has the finest line I've seen since the old accountant fine points back in the seventies. Excellent quality pen that I will not hesitate to order again when these are gone! They come in blue and black. I got the black, and my only complaint is that they do not come in red. They would be perfect for manual editing.

I expected the barrel to be a little spongy but it's not, so it took a minute to get used to the hard plastic wave pattern on my fingertips. But the tip is a very nice, thin .5 and the ink is a slightly lighter blue than an average blue, but still very easy to read. Smooth ink flow. They took a long time to get to me but I really like them and will be buying more.

I enjoy the Pentel Vicuna ballpoint pen. It provides most of the advantages of a good gel pen without worrying about the ink drying before I drag my hand over it. The colors are rich and vivid. I usually prefer using the 0.5 point for most of my writing. My experiences with both sizes have been favorable. I am left handed and have had no difficulty. I would recommend them for anyone who has had less than satisfactory experiences with gel pens. It has been very smooth writing.

Fell in love with this pen a few years ago and won't write with anything else. Smooth like a gel pen but doesn't smear. Inexpensive, refillable. Comfortable to write with - not too big or two think. Love them. Stocking up in case they stop making them (I have a habit of losing them or bragging about them and handing them out to people). My nine year old sketches and recently tried these and loves them too. The fine tip is perfect for the details he likes to add to his drawings. I'd like to try the extra fine (0.5) next time I order.

My purchase of the top-rated Uni-ball Jetstream retractable ballpoint pens didn't end up as a "happily-ever-after" one so I thought I would give the Pentel Vicuna ballpoint pens a try. Unfortunately, the extra-fine (.5 mm) tips aren't my cup of tea. I wrote a whole list of to-do items in my journal and writing was scratchy. I can only read that list in daylight because the writing is so light. So now I have 12 pens with limited usefulness. I have one in each of my bags as it does work well to write in my small Moleskine calendar but still on the hunt for a good retractable ballpoint pen.Update 2/18/17 - I used a brand new pen to write out a birthday card and it left blots of ink and my writing was all smudged - so unhappy with these pens! Taking off one more star - cannot recommend these pens.

These have been the only ball point pens I have found that I actually love. I originally bought a pack of three at staples and after using them all until they were completely out of ink (something unheard of for me), I went back to get more. Unfortunately, they didn't have any! Nor did they have any at target so to amazon it was. I was a bit skeptical because of the people who claimed to only get one pen but these arrived within two days (prime) and it is a set of twelve. They are perfect. They are the only pens I will ever use to take notes or write patient charts.

Great little pen if you're looking for something to use every day at work. The ultra fine point is smooth, no skips or smudges. The construction of the pen is light, easy to hold and write with. I used to purchase the Tul pen manufactured in China and sold at Office Max. They have since discontinued the pen and substituted it with a Tul pen that is not a ball point, line is not as fine, and smudges when you use it. I understand they changed manufactures from China to Korea which has made a big difference. Tried it, wasn't happy with it. I looked all over for a really good fine point and decided to try this out. I am very pleased with the pen's output. The only draw back that I can see is that it does not last that long. My usage habits have not changed but the pen seems to run out a lot sooner than what I was used to with the Tul pen. Overall though it does the work that I want it to do with pretty decent quality.

Not prolific as the Jetstream nor the Acroball. I've used all three of them and I would have to say that this is the best out of the big 3 Japanese hybrid ink pens. The black is darkest than the other two. NOTE: My supposed 12 pack was actually a 10 pack, it says on the official box "10". Maybe only the Blue Ink comes in a 12 pack? idk

I think these pens are the best! Generally comfortable to use and love how fine & clean the print it. The major downfall is the price, but worth it if you like quality pens and you write a lot whether at work (or in your spare time).

Writes very smoothly, inflow is consistent (no random splotches), does not smudge.Been using it every day since I got the package in the mail, and so far so good!

These pens are not easy to find. I’ve been using them for years. It seems most pens are “gel” now and the ink runs when it gets wet.Black ink ballpoint - this ink does not run. Nice fine tip. Never skips. Glad I can find them on Amazon.

My favourite pen!! Smooth writing and with a fine point that isn’t scratchy. I like the design too!

Fine point writes a clean sharp line. Smooth flow with not smudges or skipping
