This is an incredible set, and very deceptive on the size and weight. You are going to need a very large spot on your shelf to store this massive set. Is this set worth the money? If you are a fan of star wars and can afford it, then yes. The set is retiring at the end of the year which means it's about to get much more expensive. Pros: - The way the panels attach are clever and fun. - Engineering, as a whole, has improved dramatically since early UCS, and this set is a glowing example of what's to come in the future. - Full interior with foldable panels. Cons: - This is more of a half-con. All of the top panels sit on only a few single stud pegs, meaning they primarily rely on their own weight and gravity to hold them in place. This is not a play set, so it's not a major issue; you just need to be gentle as your transporting it. - The landing gear are very small in comparison to the rest of the ship. They can, technically, support the full weight of the set, but I'm worried they will give out over time, mainly the rear ones as they come out at an angle. I'd highly recommend attaching a wide base to the bottom to help support the weight. - The chains for the engine are a nightmare. All in all, a wonderful set to assemble and is a very imposing piece on the shelf. In my opinion, this set beats out the "holy grail" UCS millennium falcon in just about every category.
