Making Creative Cloth Dolls

A book for someone seeking some strong design ideas with variations on each doll. Enough basic information included for advanced beginners, but not so much that it seems like half the book is a "how to", but more like here is an idea and here is what several artists did with it. I love the book, it will be one of my constant resource books and I really like the illustrations throughout the book of dolls by several of my favorite artists, including Akira Blount and Dee Dee Triplett. This is a treasure, seek a copy and enjoy!

I finally found the earthy, artistic, inspiring book about crafting goddess dolls! Inspiring book and know that I am a book lover and have been searching for a multi-media, fine craft book about the process of making fine craft, multi-media dolls. I am not into "cute" and the examples of completed dolls include examples of beading, use of paints, and myriad manner of crafting these earthy art creations!

Great book filled with lots of original and creative ideas, as well as some good practical information for constructing them, which can also be applied to your own designs.

I'm not sure who chose the photo for the cover but the dolls inside are much more interesting, IMO. That being said, I enjoyed the book and the creativity it encourages. Well worth a look/buy if you are into art dollmaking.

MAKING CREATIVE CLOTH DOLLS is colorful, specific, inspiring...and rich in unexpected information. Throughout the book, sidebar stories will amaze the readers: stories of spirit dolls, religious dolls, mysteries and myths. This is a wonderful reference book as well as a great How-To manual!

Not your traditional doll making, but better - its thinking outside the box in order that you candevelop your creativity further. An artist needs loads of input from all different directions tobe the true artist within.

A terrific book for both the beginner and intermediate dollmaker. Contains patterns, instruction, and many, many pages of creative inspiration from other notable dollmakers. I LOVE this book. I bought it as a beginner and I'd say I'm now an intermediate and it's still inspiring me!

I'm getting back into making dolls & this little book has some great ones to try if you are mostly a beginner. You have to like fantasy to like these dolls.

This book is even more delightful then I thought it would be. I could feel my imagination take flight as I turned each page and was itching to start creating my own dolls there and then. Lovely photographs. Clear and easy to follow instructions, and patterns easily adapted to suit what you imagine your dolls will look like. The dolls would make lovely personal gifts for friends and family; for you too. This is already one of my favourite doll making books and I'm going to buy a copy for a creative friend of mine who will surely love it as much as I do.I highly recommend this book as i'm sure it will delight. I'm so glad I bought it.
