I’ve gone through a few training collars over the years, but this Jugbow Dog Shock Collar is hands-down the best one I’ve used. We’re a family of 7 (5 kids!) living on a 10-acre property in the Texas countryside. Our German Shepherd has all the room in the world to roam, which is great until he decides commands are optional. This collar completely changed the game. Why it stands out: ✅ Seriously long range: I was skeptical about the 3,300 ft claim, but it holds up across open land. I can correct him from the house even when he’s all the way out by the fence line. ✅ Training options: I mostly use the beep and vibration modes. I’ve only used the static setting on low a couple of times—it’s enough to get his attention without being harsh. ✅ Battery life: It lasts for a long time between charges; the average for us is 30 days, depending on usage. No daily plugging in, which is a big win for busy families. ✅ Rugged and waterproof: It’s made it through tall grass, muddy patches, and a couple of good Texas thunderstorms. No issues at all. ✅ Comfortable fit: He wears it easily and hasn’t had any irritation or discomfort. We don’t have cattle or a working farm—he’s our family dog first and foremost—but he still needs clear boundaries, especially with so much space and the occasional deer or rabbit passing through. This collar helped reinforce recall and behavior without stress or frustration. With five kids running around, it’s made life more manageable and training way more effective. If the company ever needs real-world feedback from families like ours—big households, rural land, loyal dogs who aren’t “working” but still need structure—I’d be more than happy to help. This collar is a solid, reliable tool that truly made a difference for us. Highly recommend to anyone with a smart, high-energy dog and some room to run.

Got this for my dog when we got a new cat in the house. He was barking, jumping, growling, etc. at her and couldn't be convinced to calm down. He'd had shock collars in the past for barking, but those broke and we never replaced them, as his barking problem wasn't really a problem anymore. Having the remote to trigger the warning and deliver the shock made training him to get along with our cat so much easier. The alarm and shock got his attention and he quickly learned the expectations. Now the dog and the cat live in harmony - he doesn't go for her even when she jumps on his back and tries to play. He knows she is part of the family now. I am happy because I can be at peace knowing my animals are safe and happy. For those worried about the shock, I tried it myself on my hand before I put it on my dog. It is definitely uncomfortable, but probably not how you are expecting. It was more of a very fast vibration type of sensation than an electric shock. It reminds me of those shock pens that people used as pranks. After testing it on myself, I was confident that the dog could handle it, and it wasn't cruel to do when he needed correction. So, hopefully that offers some peace of mind for those of you who might be anxious about getting a collar. My kids didn't like the idea - that's one reason I did it myself, to show them it wasn't as bad as they were imagining- and I told them that discipline opens the door to freedom in this case. Our dog was spending a lot of time in his crate because he was going after the cat. But once he learned to be disciplined around her, he would be more free to be out and about. And that's what happened - he learned how to behave and now he is more free. So that's something else to consider.

I have a German Shepherd and she responds very well to the noise and vibration!! It’s super easy to use and durable!

I do love it, but the clips broke on the collar and I am not sure how to find a suitable replacement. It is effective for jumping on people and when my dog tries to jump on the counter. Just need a new clip.

This collar played a big part in helping us to manage our large adopted dog. She is now easy to manage despite her strength and energy and the collar helped in reinforcing good behavior. The collar has stood up to mud and water. Very easy to put on and take off. I show our dog the remote when she goes outside - that’s about all that is now needed!

We love this collar!! Battery lasts forever, many different setting levels and waterproof. It has greatly helped us in training our pup!!

this e collar is great and has been a fundamental part in training my rescue german shepherd who never had clear discipline or leadership in his life. after a bit over 6 months of use multiple times a week i regret to say i’ve used this device to the end of its capacity. the device works perfectly for about a month and after that it starts to get buggy. the issue i’ve had is it’ll switch receiver modes from dog 1 to dog 2 without me clicking the button or having any knowledge of the switch. this can get sketchy sometimes if you need to send a stimulation to your dog and the device is sending it to the wrong dog or no dog at all if you aren’t using 2 collars. this week the device finally decided to stop charging. the charging port itself is clean and free of debris and the charger is not damaged at all. for these reasons i’m giving 3 stars. it’s a great device for you to learn how to train your dog casually but if you need something more durable or reliable for long term use i’d definitely go with something else. i hope to hear back from the company and see if they can do something for me.

I purchased this item in Sept. of 2024. It worked great on a daily basis. I began to have a problem activating the collar and contacted Jugbow. After a couple of exchanges they sent me a new collar and remote. I am very pleased with both the product and their support. I would certainly recommend to friends.
