Excellent rod. Used with Sharky X 4000 for surf fishing near gulf shores. Held up to some good fights with several gaftops and stingrays. Will be using again. Excellent value at $71.99 sale price. Would buy not on sale.

The shipping time was extreme. First time I had to wait 3 weeks to receive a package from Amazon. But it was worth the wait. Unfortunately, didn't catch anything yet with it, but that has nothing to do with the rod. The rod is extremely nice built and feels solid. It's actually lighter than I expected, feels nice, and in comby with the kastking kapstan elite 6000 and the kastking sharky baitfeeder reels, Hope to try it soon, coasts here in my region of Philippines all rocky, and often lowtide during daytime, and often privately owned. No big fish in the shallow waters during lowtide, so the Kong is a overkill for that purpose. I brought it anyway, in case I got a fair price for the boat fishing, but no. Maybe next time Thanks seller

Absolutely amazing strength and quality! The rod looks and feels great! Super light for the power it has and I use it for catfishing not surf fishing. One of the best catfish rods you can get stay away from catfish sumo chop stick if you plan to catch big cats or just period!.. they are like a ultralight compared to these rods! I got the 8ft MH but I know the 7'6 MH would be great too. Pair it with a rekon 5000 and you'll haul in just about anything you set the hook in. They pair great together! If your looking for a catfish rod this is the one! It will handle the 8oz weight casting like it's nothing! I don't know why the spinning rod medium Heavies are almost all sold out. Boy I hope they don't stop making them!

Lightweight for how strong it is.

Took it out Gar fishing and it held up perfectly, great rod for some heavy duty fish.

Fantastic rod for catching big catfish. I caught four 5-7lb channel cats my first day out with it yesterday. Def recommend this things solid, competes with some of those fancier rods like madkatz and hellcat. Edit: just wanted to update my review, I've now caught several 20lb catfish on this rod, and one 35lb blue cat. It bends well and I thought I was going to high stick it when I got that 35 lb blue into the shore (I was bank fishing with it) but it just doesn't break even though it's so darn light. It's like 1/3 the weight of my ugly stik big water.
