Easy to assemble
Outdoor Cat House with Insulated Liner Weatherproof Feral Cat Shelter for Winter is easy to assemble. I watched the video provided on Amazon that shows the assembly steps. The paper diagram told me which screws to use for each section. I used a power screw driver along with a manual Phillips screw driver to tighten each screw snugly. I used a tape measure to make sure the roof was centered correctly with one inch over-hang on each side. By myself, I spent about 30 minutes to complete the assembly. I appreciate they have dowel rods and drilled holes for those dowel rods to align. There is one portion that requires special attention when assembling. When attaching the large hinge arm that holds the roof open, it needs to be attached to the house first and then attached to the roof second. If you attach them in reverse order, the hinge blocks access to the final hinge arm screw. I think the design of this cat house is excellent. The factory built portions are sturdy and they do align properly. You just have to make sure you do not over tighten the screws until they are stripped. I am placing my cat house on my covered back porch so it will not be directly in the rain and snow.

Adopted elderly cat has a great new home!
Excellent engineering made assembly very easy. High quality materials will ensure durability., and for the price, make it a great value. Not sure if roof material has fiberglass embedded, but noticed my hands felt itchy after handling. Advise wearing gloves as a safety precaution.

Awful smell
The first thing I noticed was the awful smell, likely preservative. I left it out for several days, but it did not go away. Will have to see if the ferals will go in. Fairly easy to put together, but kind of flimsy. It was difficult to screw in the roof hinges due to placement, definitely need a 2nd person to help. Left it for now without the liner, will put in when it gets cold. UPDATE: Smell has dissipated, the cats go in freely

One of the better outdoor cat house - that are actually insulated.
Outstanding, well constructed and thought-out outdoor cat house. It's made of a good quality wood and the insulation panels provided really make the difference. I will be buying another one or two of these since we feed lots of outdoor cats on our back patio. What is interesting here is that the advertisement was correct. This is an insulated house and they provide the insulation that snaps into place, whereas other competitors will say theirs is insulated, when they are not. Highly recommended!

You can't go wrong with this cathouse!
We have an in garage/outdoor cat. Our garage isn't insulated so we have her house inside garage. I put a warm soft blanket in it. She loves it! Good price, well built, and the insulator is so nice. Glad we purchased it for her.

It will do the job
I recently purchased this item for a stray cat in our neighborhood. I had seen this product listed from different sellers on Amazon and ultimately decided on from this seller. We put it together last night and here is my official review. It was generally easy to put together, it took my husband and I around an hour. However, the instructions said “Panel A” yet none of them were labeled. The sides and top were pretty straight forward so we figured it out. I had read that the house tends to leak, so I put some weather proof protection on all sides of the house (see photo). The bottom panels just pop in, but there are some pretty big gaps (see photo) so I used painters tap to “seal” them. Then we placed two garbage bags over them to better keep out moisture and the cold air (see photo). There are “pre-drilled” holes so you can see where you need to place your screws. However, the hinge that opens and closes the roof didn’t seal on the original placement, so we had to tweak that a bit. The wood also doesn’t seem to want to connect when screwed (if that makes sense). There were lots of times where we’d have to take the screw out and re-do it. The wood also did split a little in different areas. I had also seen reviews of the smell. There is a smell to the house. It smells of paint not it’s nothing that I think wouldn’t go away with time. I did have to trim the plastic flaps on the doors a little so they would not get stuck. I also had to screw one into the side of the door to keep it down, yet the other ones are fine. The “insulation” is nice. However, the bottom of the house still feels firm and there isn’t much cushion. We’ll probably buy some straw (not hay) to put on the bottom for comfort and to regulate heat. I do like the fact that the installation covers the entirety of the cat house. It also zips up for easy installation and for cleaning. Overall, I think this is a fine cat house for the strays in your neighborhood. It is big enough to where you could put a small food bowl inside (I’m scared to put water since it might tip over). You’ll probably need to get something to fill in the cracks to keep out the cold air. I recommend the insulation cat house over the other without it. Especially with the cracks in the floor and how hard the wood is. If you are considering this house: please remember not to place blankets, towels, fleece, or even a pet bed in the house. If it were to get wet and cold, it will freeze inside the house. Hay will also hold moisture and may freeze. If you are looking into something that will regulate body heat and stay dry: always, always use straw!

Home for the Feral Cat
This was purchased for the feral cat at work. I was pretty surprised, but he began to use it right away. Now I don't have to worry about him freezing to death in the mountain winter. The maintenance man attached it to a pallet to keep it weighted down. It also might float in a flood... Money well spent it is well made and looks durable. Asphalt shingles on the roof means it will be waterproof and retain heat. The maintenance man said it was easy to put together.
