Regular chewing gum is a single use plastic and doesn't biodegrade so I was searching for a natural biodegradable alternative as I am an avid gum chewer. And I am happy to say I have found just the alternative I was looking for. This mastic gum has a pleasant pine aroma and flavour, it removes plaque from the teeth better than standard gum and I can chew knowing I'm not putting more single use plastic out into the world. I'll be buying a big bag next time as this stuff is going to be my go to chew from now on.

As it has said clearly on packaging it should be 50gr. But mine was around 27gr. Almost half of the e weight. It means customers get half what they pay for. Disappointed with it. I don’t know if other customers have the same experience or mine has been one off.

This mastic gum is contained in a tightly sealed foil packet. The pieces vary in size medium to small, lots of them. The colour as it should be - pale, creamy white. Have no complaints about the quality of this gum, but, as with other gums I have tried, I always get a headache after chewing, this being one of the side effects I believe. I don't think you could get a better quality than this, it is easy to grind into a powder if you so wish. Delivery was quick (3 days coming from Greece). However, having praised the quality of this gum, I don't think I shall be using any more because of the bad headaches mastic gum gives me.

I get acid reflux. I find chewing gum is a non-invasive, drug free way of managing the symptoms to some extent. However, I worry about swallowing too much plastic from regular gum. I was pleasantly surprised at how gum-like this stuff is. It’s firmer than regular gum and a little more abrasive than regular gum so a little more care is needed but for the potential health advantages I think I’ll stick with it. Apparently there is some evidence that there are medicinal benefits to chewing mastiha so that’s good. We will see. It’s probably a bit more expensive than regular gum but I’ve noticed that I don’t need many tears to get a gum-sized piece to chew on so I think the hundred grams should last. I might even experiment with flavouring it with a sweetener and perhaps a drop of orange or peppermint essential oil. The pine-like flavour it has is not unpleasant.

Ich war lange auf der Suche nach einem natürlichen und gesunden Kaugummi - ohne werbeversprechen. Es war wirklich ungewohnt und man muss erstmal herausfinden, wie man dieses Kaugummi benutzt. Am besten man nimmt sich eine kleine Menge in den Mund und kaut diese schnell auf einer Seite der Backenzähne klein. Zuerst "zerstauben" die Körner. Man muss versuchen den Staub an der Seite zu halten und so lange draufhauen, bis dieser warm wird. Dann formt sich langsam ein kleiner weicher Klumpen. Wenn es soweit ist kann man ihn ganz normal kauen. Es ist deutlich härter als ein normaler Kaugummi, man merkt die Kiefermuskeln deutlich. Der Geschmack ist am Anfang neu, aber mit der Zeit erfreut man sich dran. Die Zähne sind bei mir danach spürbar glatter geworden, teilweise schon fast wie nach einer Prophylaxe! Man kann den Kaugummi runterschlucken oder ausspucken, alles kein Problem. Am besten man füllt das ganze in ein kleines Döschen, somit brauch man nicht immer den Beutel dabeihaben. Ich hoffe geholfen zu haben und empfehle jedem mal diese Erfahrung zu machen. Es wird nicht jedem gefallen, dennoch ist es ein Test wert. Ich nutze ausschließlich nur noch diese Art von Kaugummi. :)
