Small Inexpensive pedal with a monster sound.
Just got the Inferno distortion pedal today and I'm blown away. I've been on a quest to get that crunchy metal tone with not much luck; until now. It's got a large tonal range from that crunchy sound to an overdrive muddy sound. It really gives you a large pallet to work with. So players that don't need a "metal" sound could use this for a great "rock" distortion. It's also got a low boost or a high boost for even more range. I've been wanting to check this pedal out for a while because it was inexpensive and from what I saw on the company website, it sounded like the pedal I had been searching for. It comes with a 9-volt battery adapter for those that use only batteries. I've used it with an A/C adapter and there was absolutely zero noise. It's a nice compact pedal design with quality construction which I love for having a small footprint pedal board. Bottom line is this pedal rivals any high-end expensive pedal out there. You can't beat what you get for the price. I'll be checking out all the companies pedals to make up my micro pedal footboard. Don't hesitate, you won't be disappointed. Now everyone can afford to rock!

Sounds Killer!
For a little $35 pedal, it sounds amazing! Killer metal tones! A few things to know right off the bat if you're considering purchasing this pedal: 1. It is not battery operated, it's too small for a battery compartment, so you will need an AC adapter, but it's not sold with one unless you purchase the pedal package, which does include one with it. 2. Run the pedal out in front of the amp, not in the FX loop, if you have one. Also run it through the Clean channel with no distortion/overdrive from the amp. 3. Use the Tone setting very sparingly, especially in High Boost and full Distortion settings; if you dime out the Tone to full treble, it will sound awful; trust me on this. Many bigger name Distortion and Overdrive pedals are the same way. I set the Tone knob nearly off or completely off. 4. At the highest Boost and Distortion settings, you will get a slight whining noise when you're not playing, that doesn't overpower the signal. It's probably from the mode switch circuit and not AC or line interference. I have a noise suppressor pedal at the end of the chain on my pedalboard, so that takes care of it. Again, it's pretty surprising and sounds really good for a little $35 pedal! Just do some tweaking between your amp, guitar and the pedal And you'll come out with some pretty awesome metal tones!

Great sound!
Surprisingly good sound for the cost! Close too a7x or slipknot sound with some heavy top skinny bottoms to match in drop d. Definitely will be trying some of the other ones!!!!

Deserves 10 stars!
Okay....here's this tiny little box with a skull on it for a good budget price and inside lies the most demonic, angry, leviathan of sound you've ever heard! I have pedals that cost over $200 and this thing has a sound far better than any of them. I'm about to sell my entire pedal collection and replace it with this. Holy chugg! Throw it into high boost with the mids at 12 and distortion full throttle....you're ready to join a death metal band. I'm gonna buy these for next Christmas for my guitar friends. Great pedal EX!

Judge me by my size, do you?
Super impressed with this pedal. I was using a Boss DS-1 and a Digitech Metal Master for my distortion needs, but I can honestly say I prefer the output of this little guy - despite it being half the price, and size. It's no one-genre pony - the knobs and switch offer great deal of variety in sound, so while it does work really well for Metal it can also be used to play plenty of other styles of rock (punk, grunge etc). Compared to my other pedals, the sound is much richer and fuller, especially with the bass boost turned on. Even with the distortion turned up all the way, I can still hear the notes and chords clearly, which is more than I can say for the Metal Master. It does create feedback if the 'level' knob is too high (I keep it at around 12 o'clock or lower) and there is some ringing when the Distortion knob as at full blast. Besides that I've had no issues and can fully recommend this pedal.

Broke in less than 6 months
Good metal sound, tone is very round and solid. Impressive for price and size. Within 2 months of using this pedal it became clear that it was defective, as it would only work at a certain angle, and I ended up having to prop it up with an object to make it work. All my chords were totally fine - they were tested multiple times with different devices. The pedal was never dropped or mishandled. Last month it stopped working altogether. Will not even turn on. My second problem with this pedal is it will drain a 9v battery overnight if you leave it connected to the device in any way. I have made that mistake twice. Have never had it happen before. Good sound, cheap quality. Disappointed.

On a budget? This distortion pedal may have you covered.
I wasn't sure what to expect with one of my first distortion pedals. The device may seem small, but the power it offers still blows me away. While having a limited topography, the variety of grit, dirt, and/or destructive soundscapes is easily accessed with a turn of the distortion pot. So much can be done within a modest setting, with volume and tone to taste. That's without the pedal's boosting capabilities, which I hardly ever use, and still churn out a wonderfully devastating, yet controlled drive, which howls late into the midnight hours. I don't even have the urge to look into more featured and expensive distortion pedals, which may very well be worth the money, but to find such an inexpensive piece of gnarly gear with an aesthetic to match is quite special. As mentioned before, don't let the Inferno 's small size fool you. For such a miniature design, it boasts grand scale excellence in a price range that may be forgiving on your wallet, but no so forgiving on the mortals that will be steeped in some of the darkest, crunchiest, and eviliest tones one may conceive.

Dope pedal , especially for the price
Dude , this thing chugs hard !. Not bad for the price at all , takes a bit of tinkering to get a good distortion and not loose tone , but I got it right where I want it and Iโm really happy !
