Great kettle
Great little 2.5l kettle. Lightweight, well made, classic shape, looks good. Works perfect on an induction hob. Exactly what I was looking for at a fraction of the price I was expecting. Ordered yesterday evening, delivered before midday today. Top marks all round. Thanks

Not Just For Camping.
The low-pitched moan, rather than a whistle, realty defines character and soul. I have called her Mary. Just like a woman, it is her imperfections that I find most attractive. For this reason I am more than satisfied. If there is a power cut in the middle of Winter. Because anything that can go wrong, will go wrong, at the most inconvenient time. My central heating is runs off a Comby boiler. When my electricity is spitefully cut off by greedy energy companies, prohibited from ripping us off even more, using the lie that they can't afford to invest in the infrastructure.... Regardless of the fact that they hyped their prices after Ed Millidand opened his gob about freezing energy prices. I have no gas. I am however, now prepared. With my butane gas cooker, what a champion little solution to becoming a victim of energy company malicious greed. I love it. Yes. it's a camping thing I know. But in the event of deliberate power cuts in mid Winter to grind us all into submission. With a plentiful stash of butane gas canisters, I can now have hot drinks for a few weeks until matters are resolved. If you are after a crisis management solution, then this little kettle together with one of those portable butane gas stoves (Not forgetting the butane gas heater and a plentiful stash of food) is just the ticket. Paranoid? Who? Me? When (Not if) the energy companies carry out their industrial action, under the guise of their financial doom, don't come knocking on my door for a hot cuppa.

It does its job but
I initially gave this kettle 5 stars but I've downgraded to 3. The good points: The whistle is good and loud, although if you're making coffee it's not necessary to let it come right up to boiling point. I like how the handle pivots sideways which makes it easier to hold under the tap if space is tight. One reviewer said they had difficulty removing the lid, but I haven't had that problem. The kettle will hopefully save a bit of money on the electric bills, apparently the equivalent gas to boil water is cheaper than electric. The bad point: after abourt 3 weeks of use the finish appears tarnished and discoloured. It's not an attractive look. The most important thing, is it is functional. But if you care about how it looks, this isn't the kettle for you.

Nice product. Good value. Good capacity. Pleasant whistling sound. Keeping it in reserve to use during next power cut

Kettle
I have used the kettle twice only, having been delighted with the look of it.first boil was obviously to clean, and 8se on time to make a cup of tea on an ordinary domestic gas hob.....the product is awful-i chose a cream colour, and it has already started to discolour!!!!!what a waste if money and disappointment.i cannot return as rarely go out,but ca not believe how a lovely looking new product has already few hours after receiving degraded so badly.why would you send out a product like this?

Good price too
Cute, lightweight kettle. Good price too. We use it on our gas hob, and have had no problems after four months of use. The handle does get a bit hot but that is expected, we just let it cool down for a while or use an oven cloth to hold it. Obviously as it does have a spout, you cannot fill it up all the way (due to water leakage), but we manage to get a good 3 cups out of filling it up just below.

Does the job. Can't fault the price.
I needed a reasonable sized kettle to take on my camping trips. Size not a problem as not backpacking and will be static, so the primary issue was size and I wanted a whistling one as it's easy to get distracted when out in the wilderness of England (Yes, I know, it's called irony) so this would remind me to turn it off. Also it won't be sitting on firewood or coal but on a camping stove which is good as the botto, just like the side of the kettle is made of thin metal and I don't think it would do too well. Tested it a home also to get rid of the new kettle smell and thisis my conclusion: 1. Does the job well enough. Once water gets boiling properly you do get a nice whistle. Someone said it was more a gurgling but that' sjust when it starts. Its loud enough and proper whistle when the boil is good. 2. Handle does get hot on the kitchen stove. Don't know why really as no direct flame. 3. Already mentioned bottom and side very thin, so a bit of care needed. 4. Outer side has signs of burning after only a couple of uses on kitchen stove where flames have overlapped the bottom. 5. Water boiled in reasonable time. Can't complain about that. Does what it says on the tin.... 6. Really hold less than 2 usable liters. the 2.5 advertised refers to the fact that you can fill it to the brim but that is pointless as at leat 1.2 a liter is above the spout. No idea why manufacturers try and con us that way. Luckily I was aware of the fact. 7. Make sure you don't boil dry. It will definitely melt very quickly (See mention about thinness). That's it. Some wins, some losses, but for less that ยฃ7 I really can't complain and am happy that it will do what I bought it far.
