Excellent tea
This is an excellent tea if you brew it right.I usually make concentrated brew in a teapot then mix that with hot water in a cup. This tea is good if you use it this way but nothing out of the ordinary. To really make it shine I brew it right in the cup. Guess that's what most people do anyway. This way the taste is just amazing.

Massive price increase is infuriating.
I last purchased 2 of the 8.8 oz bags of this tea October 2, 2024 for $7.99 each. I went to go purchase again, as I was almost out. The price is now $12.85. That is OVER a 50% increase in price in a year and a half. That is just offensive. I’m so sick and tired of companies taking advantage of consumers in every way possible any time they can. Guess what? Walmart still has it for $7.99. I’m not normally a Walmart shopper, but guess where I’ll be buying it from. The actual tea is delicious. I do recommend it, but not at this price.

Strong, Rich, Red, with a Good Tannin Bite. Good Value.
I must admit to being a a bit of a tea snob; though perhaps not the 'right' kind of tea snob. I judge tea on how it tastes, not by how I think it should taste based on its price. I disappointed a tea lover once by not saying that my favorite tea was Darjeeling - which I find to be just a little flat. I like my black tea to have a strong reddish color and a good bite of tannin. I drink it brewed strongly and quickly, with a touch of sugar and a splash of milk. I expect it to be fragrant, with just a touch of smoke. I have used Twining's loose leafed teas and like them, though perhaps not quite as much. I have used one or two more expensive loose leafed teas in tins and I like them, too. I have tried a few Tazo teas and have found it impossible to get the tea strong enough, even when using ten or twenty times the tea (by cost, not by weight)! Taylor's of Harrogate gives me a rich, dark, strong brew with good bite. It may be just a bit less fragrant than really expensive teas, but I love the flavor. Those who drink tea occasionally and like to look at the tins on the counter will likely find those to be a good value. Those who guzzle half a gallon of tea a day may find that they save a little money buying tea in these huge foil pouches. And they can do so without giving up any flavor or fragrance. Sealed in these large foil bags, I find the tea to be at least as fresh and sprightly as that in any tin. I move it in batches from the bag into an old tin that I keep on the counter. The bag I keep hidden in the cupboard, sealed with a clip, and seem to use it fast enough that it always seems fresh.

Great flavor and aroma, healthier tea!
Excellent flavor and aroma without all the microplastics that bagged tea has. We have been drinking Yorkshire Gold for years, but this loose tea reduces the microplastic exposure associated with all bagged teas. Some brands claim no plastic seam binders, but if you read into it, those brands use plant-based plastic, which is chemically the same as oil based plastic as it accumulates in your body.

I knew it was too good to be true
This household goes through a lot of loose leaf tea, almost exclusively of the Taylor's of Harrogate brand. Yes we have and continue to experiment or sample other brands and types of teas, but the Taylor's of Harrogate line has been our primary domain.,So, for instance right now, after having dug them out from the pantry, am staring at cans for Afternoon Darjeeling (yes), Tea Room Blend (not my taste), Assam Estate Leaf Tea (yes, yes), Scottish Breakfast (not really) and English (our standby, of late) and, for the first time in donkey's years, the Earl Gray (surprisingly enjoyable).Amazon served this tea up to me as a purchase suggestion which puzzled me because I haven't ever bought it and I don't buy the journeyman teas the likes of lipton's and others of that ilk. I bought it though. Mostly on price and my surprise that it is a Taylor's of Harrogate product it made me think that even at such a cheap price it could be a good cup of tea. It is not, frankly. At least not to my taste. The bag that came looked a little the worse for wear which may help to explain the bad bit which is that the tea itself is an unprepossessing mass of little crumbs and balls of the crushed leaf. It looks almost dusty, which means that a bit of it escapes into the cup or pot one brews it in. Sipping dregs is not an enjoyable cup of tea.The flavor is a bit woody or muddled and I don't care for it. This is an early impression so it is possible the flavor will grow on me, but I don't think so. While the tea does have a floral note when smelled dry it has a sharp aftertaste that hints at the woody aftertaste of the brewed leaf.If you are looking for a tea with relatively high caffeine content, this one will do, as I definitely sense a charge of energy after drinking a cup.Based on this experience I would steer you away from this product and toward Taylor's of Harrogates other loose leaf teas. In the greater scheme of things their greater monetary cost is insignificant in the face of the far superior flavor these other teas yield. The named estate teas are a special treat.

Yorkshire gold
This is a loose leaf tea. Golden in name and flavour. Biggest benefit is having no plastic as with a tea bag

So good, it was stolen by Sister-in-Law in Christmas Heist
I love this loose tea, and it is very difficult to find. The flavor is great and I tell anyone who will listen that this is so. This tea is so great that my sister-in-law has stolen this latest shipment in order to 'give' it to me as a Christmas present.Damned in-laws, great tea.
