While the old seat wasn't great, it wasn't bad for a $50 either. That was my only prior experience with a bidet and it is what I use for comparison. The Brondell is one hell of an upgrade from that other bidet and it's worth every penny. PROS: 1) I read a few reviews knocking the blow dryer in the seat. This was one of the main reasons I wanted to upgrade. In my case, I was very surprised to see how effective the blow dryer is. This feature reduce my TP utilization to zero. 2) When I initially got the seat, I was worried about the pressure. It was nowhere near the pressure of my old seat. I cannot keep the damned thing from leaking no matter what I do. 3) The water cools down before the cycle is over. I wouldn't say it gets cold, but it cools off a little. None of those things are enough to make me knock an entire star off. If I could remove a half star (to 4.5), I would. The seat is so good in the PRO department though that it's definitely something I would recommend. If you haven't had a bidet, you will quickly learn that not having one is a real problem. Best investment ever! My entire family quickly fell in love with it and it went from a "luxury" item to a "necessary and indispensable" item! We never had any problems with the bidet itself and loved the convenient remote. Unfortunately, we bought the round seat instead of the elongated seat and didn't realize our mistake until after the return period was over. So the toilet seat bumpers never aligned up correctly and the seat shifted when we sat on it. It wasn't perfect but we lived with it. I had a total knee replacement a couple weeks ago and after the seat fell down because one of the glued on bumpers fell off, my weight shifted and my new knee ended up quickly moving which hurt like h@ll. We decided it was finally time to buy a bidet with an elongated seat. I was going to buy the exact same model, but I saw a different model that had a "sittable" lid. I ordered it, my husband installed it, I loved when I sat down and the seat actually lined up! But then when I pressed the button on the remote to rinse off, I jumped...but not for joy! The water was cold! It got warm, but every single time it was cold. We read the manual and the Troubleshooting section. Nothing in the setup was different. So I ended up returning the other bidet and reordered this Brondell SE600. As soon as it was connected, I tried it, and I had warm water instantly, just like our previous Brondell bidet. If I'm going to pay $300+ for an "optional" item, it better make me comfortable and happy!
