XeroCovers Journey - Waterproof Travel Bike Seat Rain Cover

Xerocovers Journey held up transporting my bike on a roof rack for my trip to S.C and back to Virginia. I have both my bikes with Brooks leather saddles and the cover worked for both. No leaking, tearing, or slipping once installed. Seems quite durable and beats plastic shopping bags. I did try riding with the cover for a short time in light rain and the cover stayed in place, but this feature not recommended.

I used this waterproof seat cover on a 400 mile bike ride from Buffalo, NY to Albany, NY along the Erie Canal. We only had one afternoon and one night of rain on the 8 day trip. It keeps the seat dry while riding, and while parked in the rain outdoors overnight. I have a Giant brand aftermarket seat that has a breathable, nylon/poly seat over the seat foam, which will absorb water. This waterproof seat cover is a two-layer, drawstring cover which will cover most road or mountain bike seats easily. And it's waterproof. I keep it in my panier all the time, for whenever I need it. Glad I had it along for the trip!

I have gone through a lot of bike covers. Most are too low quality. I live in Southern California and bike to work 4-5 days the week. My bike is outdoors on our patio when I am home with direct sun and rain exposure. The seat cover therefore needs to withstand both the SoCal UV radiation and the pouring rain from atmospheric rivers (yes, it does sometimes rains in SoCal and when it does it comes it buckets sizes). I have been using this cover for two years now and it has done a great job. I like that it is seamless, which prevents leakage of water, a problem I had with previous seat covers. It is also easy to put ln and off thanks to the draw string. But now, after two years, I discovered holes in the outer layer. It got brittle. Nothing seems to withstand SoCal UV light forever. I therefore need to get a new cover before the rain season starts. I will try a different brand this time to see if it lasts longer than two years. If it does not, I will return to this one. Two years is at least better than previous brands I tried.

I used this cover on my bike for two 1200-mile trips with my bike on a rack on the back of my car in full wind at high speeds, and the cover never budged. It remained secure and waterproof for the whole trip. But I am just as impressed with this company's customer service. I originally had a problem with one of their other covers and they contacted me and suggested that I had purchased the incorrect cover for the purpose for which I needed it, and quickly replaced it with the Xerocover Journey. That is the kind of top-notch service that I appreciate and won't forget. I subsequently purchased another cover for my husband's bike. Thank you for five-star service and a great product!

Good product. Fitting it onto the seat is not an obvious process, as it just a single flat triangle shaped piece of material. You have to lay the flat triangle shaped fabric over the seat and pull the cord. It will draws the cover around the sides of the seat to secure it. Works well.

I just finished driving from Connecticut to Florida and return using this cover to protect the new Brooks saddle on my bike. I did put a velcro strap around the nose of the saddle to keep the cover doubly secure but doubt it was needed since there was no indication at the rear of the saddle that the cover loosened at all. The bottom line is that while the rest of the bike got wet and covered in road grime, the saddle stayed pristine. It looks as good as it did when I started. And the cover shows no signs of wear or deterioration after 2500 miles of highway travel. I could not be happier with this. No more plastic shopping bags lashed to the saddle and tearing away in the wind!

I bought one for my bike for traveling on the rack. I had a little difficulty figuring out that there are two inseparable layers and that I needed to really pull the drawstrings to start to get the shape of the seat and then tighten it all the way when on the seat, making sure that it is tucked nice and deep all the way under and around the seat. I traveled with my bike on the rack from Southern MD to Boston through heavy storms both ways and the seat stayed dry. I also use it when I am going to travel at dusk when the air gets a little heavy. It keeps that evening dampness off. I did add, for the Boston trip, a ball bungee as a safety measure. I think that it might have been unnecessary because I made sure that the cover was really really tight, but no regrets. I like that it has a storage bag. Can't recommend it highly enough.

According to the product page these covers should have fit our seats but they were too small and so we returned them. They seemed to be made well enough but we never used them so if they are waterproof or would stand the test of time I cannot say.
