Solid gift for myself
Super retro, but works great! I love sitting there and watching it. Nice and bright and definitely makes me happy. Definitely contributes to my vibe. Not too big or too small, so it fits nicely on my desk.

Do not shake, great quality, could be a little bit more stable, color is perfect!
I love it although I think it could be a little bit more stable but maybe it’s just because I prefer the old style but I thought I would try this out and it’s exactly the color I was hoping for. Funny thing I actually saw this lava lamp in the old style on an 90s movie I saw recently! Loved it so much and it brought me right back so I had to buy it! Be sure to give it at least one proper warm-up and do not shake them. I learned that lesson when I was 10 so learn from my mistake.

Lava lamp
This is a pretty lava lamp. Unfortunately the bulb that came with it didn’t work. The filaments were broken so I haven’t been able to see what it looks like yet. Had to order replacement bulbs for it. I think I’ll enjoy it once I get the new bulbs and turn it on. As a side note - I received the replacement bulbs and the lamp works now. It is very pretty and works great. I love watching the movement of the lava in it. It does get very hot so be careful if you buy one.

Better after some tinkering
It’s an okay lamp right out of the box but I like to tinker with these and really make them mine so it was a good project lamp for me. First, I had to filter the cloudy fluid. This is pretty common with motion lamps so I pretty much expected to have to do this. Next, the purple fluid wasn't as deep as I was hoping it would be so I dyed it with one drop of magenta dye to give it a slightly deeper purple color. And lastly, I found the flow of the wax to be kind of boring, creating standard, plain round blobs. So I added a few drops of surfactant to lower the surface tension and make the wax more snaky, creating columns of wax that stretched further up the globe before breaking off. My only legitimate gripe is with the low quality wax color, which has a slightly translucent quality to it, giving it a cheap, watered down appearance. I much prefer the more opaque, bold colored wax that lava brand lamps have. Finally, this is really only relevant to those who mod lamps, but I have to say I'm pleased the globe's top where it is capped has the proper lip to use a bottle capper with so you can easily and properly recap the globe after tinkering with it. Lava brand lamps don't have this lip so recapping them is a bit more work and not always effective. Overall it's an okay lamp for the money. For someone who doesn't collect these and isn't picky about the flow and wax color, it's probably fine. For me though, I like to make lava lamps uniquely mine and it took some modding to get it there, which I didn't mind doing.

Great gift
Purchased as a gift for my husband and it’s perfect! The flow is smooth and the color looks very cool. The base gets warm but isn’t as hot to the touch as they used to make them. Very happy with this purchase.

Beautiful colors and clarity but the glass is a bit narrow
The purple liquid with yellow/orange wax color combination is one of the better-looking ones I’ve purchased recently. Overall I’d give it 4 stars because it delivers the relaxing classic lava lamp experience really well, but there are still a few areas where the build quality could be improved. The first thing that stands out is definitely the color combination. The purple liquid paired with the yellow/orange wax looks fantastic both during the day and at night. When the lamp is fully warmed up, the wax almost glows with warm sunset-like tones against the deeper purple background, which creates a really cozy atmosphere. It works especially well in darker rooms, gaming setups, bedrooms, or mood lighting situations. The colors are vibrant without looking overly neon or cheap. One thing I was pleasantly surprised by was the clarity of the liquid. A lot of modern lava lamps arrive cloudy or develop murky liquid after a few uses, but this one stayed fairly clear after warming up properly. Right out of the box it had a slight haze, which is pretty common, but after a few heat cycles the liquid became much clearer and the wax movement was easier to see. The clearer liquid really helps the colors pop and makes the flowing wax much more visually satisfying. Speaking of the wax flow, this lamp performs pretty well once it reaches operating temperature. It usually takes around 1.5 to 2 hours to fully warm up, which is fairly standard for a 16-inch lamp. Once heated, the wax creates large flowing blobs instead of tiny broken pieces, and the movement feels smooth and hypnotic rather than chaotic. The wax rises nicely, stretches into interesting shapes, and slowly drops back down the way you expect from a classic lava lamp. I also noticed the flow remained fairly consistent during longer use sessions instead of overheating too quickly. That said, the build quality is probably the weakest part of the lamp. It’s not terrible, but it definitely feels average rather than premium. The metal base and cap are lightweight and could feel sturdier for the price point. The overall construction works fine, it just doesn’t have that heavy, high-end feel some older lava lamps used to have. I also really wish the glass portion itself was bigger. Since the lamp is 16 inches tall, I expected a little more visible glass area and a slightly larger wax chamber. The proportions are still nice, but the base and cap take up more space than necessary, making the actual viewing section feel somewhat smaller than it could be. A larger glass globe would make the flowing wax even more impressive and immersive. Another positive is that the lamp gives off a relaxing ambient glow without being overly bright. It works great as accent lighting while watching movies, listening to music, or winding down at night. It’s bright enough to add atmosphere without lighting up the entire room. Overall, this is a very solid lava lamp if you mainly care about appearance, color combination, and smooth wax flow. The purple and yellow/orange combination looks beautiful, the liquid clarity is better than expected, and the wax movement is calming and enjoyable to watch. The average build quality and smaller-than-expected glass section keep it from being a full 5-star product for me, but it’s still a fun and visually appealing lamp that I’m happy to keep displayed.

My Room’s New Resident Blob Overlord – The Jambo 16” Liquid Lamp
I didn’t just buy a lamp. I adopted a sentient, mildly hypnotic goo creature that moonlights as mood lighting. Meet the Jambo 16” – part retro lava lamp, part abstract art installation, and 100% committed to the bit. From the moment I plugged it in, this thing started its performance like a backup dancer who just got promoted to soloist. The blue liquid is the calm ocean, and the yellow/green wax blobs are the chaotic party guests who show up uninvited but end up stealing the show. They rise, stretch like sleepy taffy, blob together in conspiracy, then dramatically plop back down like they remembered they left the stove on. Pure theater. Pros: • Hypnotic Factor: 11/10. I’ve lost 45 minutes of my life just staring at it. My productivity is now a suggestion, not a requirement. • Vibe Delivery: Instant 1970s basement rec room meets serene zen garden. It makes my apartment feel like a chill nightclub for introverted aliens. • Build Quality: Surprisingly sturdy glass and a base that doesn’t wobble like my dating life. It heats up nicely without turning into a miniature sun. • Conversation Starter: Friends walk in, see it, and immediately go, “Whoa… is that… alive?” Yes, Chad. Yes it is. Cons (for the sake of honesty): • It does take a solid 20-30 minutes to really get grooving. Patience, grasshopper – good blobs can’t be rushed. • The wax sometimes forms shapes that look suspiciously like my ex’s profile picture. Therapeutic? Maybe. Unsettling? Also maybe. Overall, if you want a lamp that just sits there looking pretty, get a regular one. If you want a glowing, bubbling, ever-changing companion that makes you feel like you’re living inside a screensaver from 1998 (in the best way), the Jambo 16” is your new quirky roommate. Highly recommend. My plants are jealous, my stress levels are lower, and I now narrate the blobs’ adventures in a British accent when no one’s around. 10/10 would blob again. 🌋✨

Preciosa
