Johnny Shepherd is the artisan pudding master of The Pudding Stop and The Pudmobile in St Albans. He creates baking favourites using only the best local, seasonal and organic ingredients he can find. After competing on THE GREAT BRITISH BAKE OFF, Johnny decided to pursue his passion and talent for baking by bringing his grandfather's old business back to life. Johnny now does a thriving trade and was shortlisted for the BBC's Food and Farming Awards in 2012. Food critic Charles Campion said that 'the pudmobile is a shrine to pudding' and chef Valentine Warner declared Johnny's custard tart was the best he'd ever eaten. This new cookbook is full of family favourites; delicious puddings to bring back fond memories and guarantee that someone will lick the baking bowl clean. Indulge yourself with Proper Custard and Sticky Toffee Pudding, delight in a Lemon and Polenta Cake and evoke the warm comforts of childhood with a homely Bread and Butter pudding. Inspired by generations of British family baking, this is the perfect book for all of those who crave the tradition and nostalgia of classic puddings. Review: One of the finest pudding cookbooks I now own! - As a keen cook and someone who loves to make puddings for the whole family to share all the time (they don't often complain...), this book is fantastic! I have so far made the lemon posset, treacle sponge, sticky toffee pudding and the steamed chocolate pudding with chocolate custard, which I would buy the book for alone, it is so unbelievably yummy. Every single recipe looks great and I can't wait to make more and hope to keep getting recipes from this chef. Hands down, one of the best pudding cookbooks I now have and will rely on it for years to come I am sure. Review: Love this book - Love this book. Frequently go to the pud stop as a customer and love that now I have moved away from the area i can still have their sticky toffee pudding and brownies. Lots of classic recipes and some adaptations of classics if you want something a bit different. If you love pudding then I would thoroughly recommend this book.

A great book on puddings. If you've ever been fortunate to sample them from the Pudding Stop or the Pudmobile you'll know these recipes are really good.
