Appear to meet the claims made.
Compared to my previous Gigaset phones these certainly wouldn't win any prizes for being good looking or compact and as to the build quality only time will tell. I presume there must be a demand for bigger buttons on this type of phone and naturally that dictates the size. So why did I buy them? 1) Sound quality 2) Superior call blocking. 1) I wear hearing aids and whilst these phones do not claim to be hearing aid compatible and in fact in the snall print it even tells you that they may cause a humming noise on the aid, but happy to say no problems for me, the handset volume could benefit from being a little louder but the sound is very clear. The base unit however is capable of such loud volume that there is plenty of scope for the hard of hearing. Another benefit sound wise is that, via Bluetooth, calls can be answered on a paired mobile phone so if sound is clearer on a mobile that is an option. 2) Call blocking does, as promised, work extremely well, on the 'announce' setting you don't get any indication of calls that have been blocked until you pick up the handset and see the notification symbol. I wouldn't say I get a lot of spam calls but it came as a surprise to see how many are caught There are other settings to suit varying requirements. It wasn't difficult to set up but the manual is useful for explaining what you are selecting as it is not 100% intuitive, it gets better as you pick up the names for the features. All in all I'm happy with my purchase and we all know the end of the ugly duckling story!

Call blocking works well.
These replaced an old Panasonic set of DECT phones. My main requirement was for call blocking as the old phone had only a 30 entry block list. Set up was OK for me as I am a bit of a geek. Pairing to two mobile phones and importing the contacts worked well and I was able to create a combined main contacts list on the device. The option of calling using a linked mobile was superficially attractive but didn't actually seem to work. Even with the mobile close to the base station it would initiate the call, but on answering, all went silent after a second. So I've just unlinked them for now. Can't see me collecting a vast number of new contacts to transfer so I can enter any new ones individually. This is essential as the call blocking does what it says on the tin. If a number isn't in your contacts they won't get through without your consent. The only slight issue is the answering machine rings before it answers. That can be increased from the default 6 but with Virgin Media 1571, you only get 7 -10 . The answering machine seems pretty good and is fundamental to call screening so I'm going to get Virgin to turn my 1571 off. The speed dial is useful once you get used to it taking a good long press on 1,2 etc. to kick in. Haven't had a single spam call since we had them.

Blocks nuisance calls and I'm not with BT
I was a bit nervous paying this for a phone with such mixed reviews, but having been registered with the Telephone Preference Service for years and getting fed up with all the international nuisance calls that they have no power to deal with. I decided I needed to do something. The phone is nice and solid, feels comfortable to hold and is easy to use. The first job you are going to want to do, is to connect your mobile (can connect more than one) via bluetooth and import your contacts. Also when your mobile is connected via bluetooth, you can use your mobile instead of the handset when making landline calls and your Landline phone can be used when calling on your mobile. Quite useful if your battery is low or you prefer to use the other device. You do need caller ID from your phone service provider for the call blocking to work, so if you don't have that then you should get it. If your provider charges for such an in-expensive feature, maybe it's time to review your service agreement. Call blocking is simple. If an unknown number phones, they get displayed and you can choose to accept or add to the blocked list. If you block them, they get a message telling them they are blocked in future. If they are a friend or family or genuine caller, and they haven't been added to your phone book, they will unfortunately have to pass the call screening. This is down to you to ensure family and friends are in your contacts. If they aren't, why on earth not ? They can pass call screening by announcing who they are. Your phone then rings and announces the caller from the name they left (recorded from what they said) and you can choose to accept or reject and whether to block the caller. It does take time. But the end result of bothering to set it up correctly will benefit you. No product is just going to be able to decide for you, who to accept and who to block. One very useful feature of the call blocking is the ability to block area codes. So you could block calls from a particular country. If you don't have friends or relatives there and a nuisance caller starts to phone you using multiple calling lines ( a common trick ). you can just block calls from an entire region of the world if you wish. You can also block calls beginning with a set of numbers, which should reduce cold callers from solar scams/insurance scams/pension scams etc. No system will ever be perfect, scammers will find ways around many systems, but this one seems to cover most bases and as a result, I haven't received a nuisance call since installing it, although as you can see from the photos, they have tried, those numbers are known scammers, easily googled, and the red symbol shows they are blocked. Phone never rang, and they will move onto softer targets, i.e those without call blocking. Good luck to you if you are reading this review and don't buy :) The only feature I miss is my previous phone announced the caller name if they were in my contacts, saving bothering to go look at the screen. A minor negative. Overall I would score this 9.5/10 with the announce caller name my previous non call blocking phone had being the .5 of a point lost, but I consider this a small loss, compared to never being bothered listening to John with his heavy foreign accent explain to me that he is calling from Windows, or Janet, also with an incredibly heavy foreign accent, who wants to let me know that the tax office are going to send me to jail and Paul the Nigerian Pastor/Prince/Investment banker would like my bank details to send me lots of money to hide for him

No more muppet calls
Brilliant, no more muppets phoning me to try and sell me something I donโt want. Without being patronising, perfect for anyone that could be manipulated by unscrupulous people.

Great Features
I have been using this (pair) of BT Premium cordless phones now for a week, and am pleased with them. Initial set up is straightforward, though at first attempt it would not recognise the 2nd handset, until I reset Handset 1 and started again. Contacts were downloaded from my Android mobile phone via blue-tooth without any problem. However, as others have noted, you cannot then edit any entry. Best option is the use the Copy function to then store the address book in the Phones Contacts list, then delete the downloaded file. Sadly the phones address book is very basic, so only name and numbers, and cannot be sorted into surname order - first name only. Display is very simple, clear and bright but not high definition! Volume of Ringer can be changed, as can the earpiece and at full volume is fine (and I am hard of hearing) Call blocking feature is very good but read the instructions carefully to understand the options! Base answerphone works fine and you can create your own message. Both handsets sync with each other for contacts and calls details etc. These phones work fine with the BT Broadband Digital Voice system, and do display the caller ID and from your contacts list. I do recommend these, though getting everything set up may take you a few days, and careful reading of the included instruction manual! One reviewer did mention that the sound quality from the handset(s) earpiece is very tinny (I would say sharp) and I agree, there is very little bass or body to the sound of the voice on call, however as I have restricted hearing its actually of benefit to me as it makes it more intelligible in my circumstances.

Slightly Underwhelming
I ordered this phone, after my 10 year old Phillips one died, hoping that I would see a big leap in capabilities compared to my original and that's where this phone is slightly underwhelming. Firstly I found it very easy to set up with clear and concise instructions. The handsets look very nice although the shiny plastic does attract fingerprints, to the same degree that I'm attracted to a good bakery! The screen on the handsets, although colour, is very low definition and as reported before the phonebook is quite slow to open even with just a few contacts typed in, hence I didn't bother with the mobile sync option as I imagine it would take an age to go through all the contacts I store on my mobile. The base unit matches my BT router very nicely with the same blue glow and the nuisance caller button is very handy and seems to be effective. The sound quality for calls is no better than my old phone but the range you can roam with the handsets seems to be longer. The answer phone is no clearer than my old one either but it can store a lot more messages. So seeing as this was my first new landline phone in 10 years I'd hoped for an improvement along the same lines that mobile phones have improved but those hopes have been dashed. Yes this phone works perfectly well..... I'd just hoped for more.

BT Premium Phone Twin set
I do like this phone set and woupd only recomnend buying it at a reduced price as at its original price it to expensive. It has a lot of good features some only work if you have the right things set up on your phone line though. Downside is the screen is very small and it means you cannot see whole long phone number on screen like International numbers. An with the screen being small one cannot add full contacts names either. So for contacting it would be much better if you did not have to shorten contact names. It is good you can put home, work and mobile numbers in though. Also it should be able identify number ringing an lable them like a smart phone would. Examples like bussiniess or potential spam calls. It can block calls but it would be nice to know why it has blocked a call. So good but over priced with the discount I paid was not to bad a price.

Peace at last!
I read all the negative reviews and was a little hesitant, but the price was good so I thought I'd at least try. Our phone line is provided by Sky and this wasn't an issue. The phones look nice, and yes they are plastic, but I don't think they feel particularly cheap, they feel fine to me. They look fine, the numeric buttons are back-lit and the screen is clear and easy to read. The buttons on the base are small but easy and intuitive to use. I don't see how you can miss the answering machine light as some posters have said. Set up was easy, just keep in mind that if you are taking numbers from a mobile, these need to be stored on the device itself not on the sim card. The ring tones are simple ring tones (x2), but I don't need a symphony every time it rings, as long as I know it's ringing that's job done. The features seem great; find phone from base, ring other handset (intercom type thing), and different setups for call blocking. We've had them installed for a day, a peaceful day, with no 'PPI', 'finance advice, 'you've been in an accident', 'your amazon prime is going to renew' or 'you're about to have police knocking on your door because you owe the tax man thousands' phone calls. The day before I put them in I had 4 of the above. All in all, so far I would definitely recommend these phones. They're not overly snazzy, but I'm guessing most people buy them for the nuisance call block function, and this seems to be flawless. I'm pleased with them. ยฃ50 for two handsets is affordable and it does what it says on the tin. I'm glad I tried despite the negative reviews. **A note to sky customers: Caller ID had never worked since we've been with sky and it hasn't bothered us, but obviously we needed it for these to work. It's supposed to be activated when you take out a call package but it often isn't. I rung sky (on customer services, not 150 as this led to a never ending circle of useless text messages), and they activated it their end. It takes 48 hours to become active, and during that time all of your calls will be screened. **
