I am looking to use it for thick textbooks that are 8-900 pages.** A: It holds my textbooks open with no problems (1000 pages on average - so that's around 500 pages under each clip). I think the clip capacity is large enough for thicker books, though I don't have any to test it on. The success with which the clip will hold the book flat depends mostly on the binding of the book, but even with a particularly stubborn binding the clip will hold it open to some degree, if not perfectly. **Q: Hi, Do you still have 1 of the FlipKlip in stock? I note you only have 6 and on e-bay too, it's showing all 6 sold.** A: Please see my other reply - but I no longer sell FlipKlips on Ebay - only on Amazon! **Q: could it be used on a music stand to hold thick music books open and to be able to turn pages easily?** A: I agree with the other person up to a point. I find it easy to slide a page from under the clip without lifting the clip up, but you do have to manipulate it under the clip on the other side. I think it can be done and I thik it;s worth giving it a try. I use mine in the gym on the treadmill every day and can now turn pages over with one hand very efficiently! **Q: Will this work if my book is stood up? This product has solved the problem!
