They are difficult to digest and cannot be completely absorbed by the body - instead they are fermented by bacteria in our gut, causing excessive wind, bloating, pain, abdominal distension, cramping, stomach gurglings, diarrhoea and frequent bowel motions. The low-FODMAP diet: Is the most successful diet for bringing relief to sufferers of IBS Has been medically proven in rigorous clinical trials to help identify food intolerances and improve symptoms in up to 75 per cent of people with IBS. Is quickly becoming an essential treatment for people with a sensitive gut . Can help in the management of a wide range of stomach troubles and gastrointestinal discomfort. This book is an easy guide to why and how the low-FODMAP diet can help, and includes tables of what foods need to be avoided for the elimination phase and beyond. Empower yourself with the knowledge of exactly which foods cause you problems, putting you in the driving seat and letting you control your symptoms rather than have them control you .

Life is tastier and belly is happier with this book!
LOVE this book! Was searching for low fodmap recipes and this book is awesome! Was a bit nervous because it had only one review, so I looked the author up, liked what I found, and took a risk. So glad I did.I've tried the muesli (which soothed my belly, was easy to prep, and easy to grab on my way out the door in the portioned containers I used!) and the caper, cheese and polenta muffins (soooo tasty and I don't even like capers usually! Savory and cheesy and relatively easy to make! *photo from the book included*) so far, and have the Vietnamese-style veggie noodle bowl and peanut butter brownies next up on my to do list. There's about 15 pages of info at the beginning about the diet, including a list of what to avoid and what to limit, then so many pages of awesome recipes! Can't wait to try them all!

Recipes look delicious and easy to follow; however...
I liked this book with easier to use baking ingredients than what I've seen in other books. I have fructose malabsorption and many fruits with medium-level fructose are included in recipes, so I'll be substituting. Also no mention of fructans and night shades.

GREAT Recipe Book
After being placed on a low FODMAP diet and not having a single clue on what it was, I did what I do best: buy a book! I have LOVED this book. One of my biggest concerns after being placed on a low FODMAP diet was feeling that I would have to sacrifice flavor and not be able to have great tasting food. This book has it all. It has very tasty recipes and gives you quite a variety on dishes. It is split up in sections, so you have a breakfast, lunch, appetizer, main course and dessert section. I love that the dishes have had so much flavor, and even the people who I have made these recipes for have no idea they are a "special" diet food. They have loved it. I love that this recipe book has pictures, as well as a great list for foods that are "acceptable" to eat. Throughout the recipes there are also "tips" that are incredibly helpful. I would recommend this book.

Fish heavy book
I had high hopes for this but was disappointed because the majority of recipes contained fish. I can't eat fish so I ended up returning this book. However, if you like fish you will probably like this recipe book. On a positive note, it is laid out well and explains why some foods are better and why some are worse.

Great low-FODMAP cookbook
Simple enough that you don’t have to be a master chef, but yet not so dumbed down you end up eating the same things over and over. It is a well thought out and well planned cookbook with lots to choose from.

Only US measurements
Again created in USA and so it only has US measurements like cups and sticks of butter. In Europe this does not exist en so I have to check the internet to convert to grams. Because THERE IS NO CUPS/GRAMS CONVERT PAGE IN THE BOOK! I was surprised about that. In times Like these, you should at least expect that.Overal good book with information about what is Low Fodmap. It seems that cream, whipped cream and butter does no harm to lactose intolerant people, but I can certainly not eat that with this intolerance. The book has a lot of recipes, though not all recipes contain pictures. It’s overal good for it’s reduced price. It also has meat and fish recipes inside , breakfast options and salads.

Not new condition of the book while paid full price!
I have ordered a new book and, upon arrival, I saw that the book had worn out edges and a spot from a removed sticker on a front page. Not what I paid for!In terms of the content, the recipes seem fine. However, there is no consistency between Fodmap ingredients' list, aka the ones whuch should be avoided, and the very same ingredients used in the actual recipe 10 pages later.
