Adesso3004-14 Sebu, Floor Lantern, White

I was forced to buy new lamps when my old one became damaged. I loved that lamp, had it for 9 years. I don't like change and was not happy about having to shop for a new one. I bought (two of) this one because it looks similar in size & shape. I was planning on painting the base black. Upon arrival, I was happy to find the base actually is black & not teak or brown in any way. Once set up and lit, I must admit they look better than my old ones that I was so heartbroken to let go :) They are just lovely, I used 60-watt bulbs, they cast a welcoming, attractive & comfortable light perfect for a calm living room. I love this lamp.

I'm trying to not be so picky these days with products because I do t want to add to the Human waste landfill with products that are cheaply made and easily disposable. With that said my review is centered mor on the lasting quality of the product versus a lot of the nitpicky things.It's a floor lamp with a step switch. It's durable , lights up and asthetically pleasing. It's a bit lighter than I expected but if I don't move it around a lot and crash into it, I expect it can last for ever.The weakest link will be the step switch. By the nature of stepping on a switch to turn on and off, this should be a very durable part. That fact is yet to be determined. So for now it's a nice lamp that lights up. And for that I say four starts. A five star review would have been a more durable first impression of the materials. That in no way says it isn't worthy of five. Just that for my tastes five stars would have weighed a bit more in the base of the lamp.

Over priced; poor qualityStylish look but disappointed in Quality for price.1. White cover creased in two places.2. Light leaks in multiple places at four corners.3.Would give it a three if it were half the price. Would return it if it weren’t so bulky and no assurance that a replacement would not have the same flaws (turned them so that they’re partially out of sight).We’ll see how long it lasts…

Bought this for a dark corner in my foyer. It’s beautiful! Really lights up the space with a soft glow. Very pleased!

Okay, so you get what you pay for. The lamp works, the shade is acceptable, although cheaply made (the seam is very noticeable), and the base is ugly as a red-headed step child. Not even close to being the color of teak...sort of a muddy espresso brown. It still provides the ambient light we wanted, so we kept it but hid it behind a big plant!

Needed to brighten up a corner where there is a recliner so no room for a table lamp. Looks cool and contemporary and definitely brightens up the corner

I can't give this lamp 5 stars, because it's rather bland; nondescript. It's a good lamp if you're looking for soft light in a dark corner. It would be perfect for mood lighting behind a large potted plant. We used 40 watt bulbs. I would have used 30, but didn't have on-hand. The base I received was more black, like a walnut black? Not quite a true black, with 1/4" vertical panels, or texture. Way better than the "teak." But it's not a base that needs to be showcased, regardless. For the $70 range it's good. Now it's up to $113 & I wish I'd gotten 2. The lamp kind of needs to be balanced out in the room we put it in with another lamp of the same height.

Note the word "Teak". Mine showed up "black". Not thrilled with the black base but to simplify my life,I'll live with it. Other than the wrong color you need to know that the switch is a floor push/push for operation.If you have thick carpet/rugs this may pose a challenge to stay put when you are trying to switch on/off.Also note that the fixture is low enough that you can see into the square white shade where the lamps are.You may or may not like this.A little sweating of the details would have made this a great fixture.
