**5.0 out of 5 stars** **Fantastic GMT field watch , punches way above its price!** I picked up the Seiko 5 Sports SSK023 (black dial GMT) and I'm absolutely thrilled with it. This thing is a sleeper hit – great build, super versatile, and it looks sharp on the wrist. Right out of the box, the watch feels solid: 39.4mm case is perfect (not too big, not too small), the curved Hardlex crystal has a nice vintage vibe, and the LumiBrite on the hands and markers glows like crazy at night. The fixed five-sided GMT bezel gives it that tool-watch character, and the red GMT hand pops beautifully against the black dial. It's a caller GMT (using the 4R34 movement), but for travel or tracking a second zone, it works flawlessly. Where it really shines for me is the timekeeping. Mine has been running **extremely accurately** staying within a couple seconds per day, which is honestly comparable to my Rolex Explorer II GMT in real-world use. I was pleasantly surprised; no big swings like some cheaper automatics. Power reserve is solid at around 41 hours, and it hacks and hand-winds smoothly. The only minor thing (and it's not really a complaint) is that I swapped the stock bracelet almost immediately for an aftermarket solid clasp and solid end-link oyster-style bracelet from Long Island Watch shop. They make a custom one specifically fitted for the SSK023 (20mm lug width), and wow – what a difference! The stock one is decent, but the Islander oyster upgrade feels more premium, hugs the wrist better, and gives it that classic Rolex-ish polish without breaking the bank. Highly recommend if you're picky about bracelets. Overall, this is one of the best value watches I've owned. Great for everyday wear, looks good dressed up or casual, and the GMT function is actually useful. If you're looking for an affordable, reliable field GMT that doesn't scream "budget," grab this one you won't regret it. Highly recommend!

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Excellent Experience – 100% Authentic Seiko SSK033 I recently purchased the Seiko 5 Sports SSK033 GMT from The Watch Locker, and I couldn’t be happier with the entire experience. First, the watch arrived brand new and exactly as described. It was carefully packaged, and all protective plastics were still applied to the case and bracelet, which gave me immediate confidence that it had never been worn or handled improperly. The bracelet and clasp were fully wrapped in factory protection. The watch itself is absolutely stunning in person. The silver/white dial paired with the blue and black bezel gives it a unique “Batman” style look, but with a brighter and more refined appearance, which can be called the “White Batman”. The finishing on the case and bracelet is excellent, and it has a solid, quality weight that feels premium on the wrist. Most importantly, the watch is completely authentic. The 4R34 movement functions exactly as it should: • The GMT hand adjusts independently in the first crown position. • The date changes properly. • The seconds hack when pulled to the second position. • Manual winding works smoothly and feels precise. • The rotor and caseback engravings are correct and clean. The seller provided a one-year warranty, which is fair for a third-party seller, and the price I paid was competitive for a brand-new model. Overall, I am extremely satisfied with this purchase. This is a watch with presence, not just in size but with a retina burning yellow colorway. The GMT function combined with the bright yellow is what appealed to me on this watch prompting me to purchase it. The shorter lug to lug length allows this watch to look sized appropriately sized for my wrist. The bracelet is pretty decent for a Seiko as this is the area the tend to focus on their cost cutting to keep prices reasonable. The clasp is cheap stamped steel and is the only really disappointment on this watch.

Very sporty appearance, excellent quality, keeps great time. I wanted this for the GMT hand for amateur radio, I have found that it's my favorite watch.

If you're on the fence, get this watch. I'm not a big watch guy, but I wanted something a bit more "upscale" without a ton of flash. This watch is exactly that. When it arrived I had to get some links taken out, so I took it to my local watch dealer (primarily Rolex and other $1,000+ watches). The vendor looks at it and immediately says "Oh I love these Seiko's. They're beautiful timepieces." After getting the band set, it wears super comfortable and beautiful. I have slim wrists (shoutout my slim wrist boys!) and it doesn't seem oversized or gaudy at all. It's incredibly easy to set. It's incredibly easy to wind if you're not wearing daily, and it's incredibly understated yet classy (think quiet money). It looks like a Rolex Master II. If you're just starting out on your watch journey, I feel like this is must-have for the price.

I’ve been wearing this Seiko 5 GMT for a few days now, and overall I really like it. I’ve always been a big Seiko fan and couldn’t resist this one. Pros: • Sleek, modern design that looks great on the wrist • Keeps accurate time right out of the box • The GMT feature is a standout—I love being able to track a second time zone Cons: • The face is smaller than I expected based on the photos • The convex crystal and deep-set dial make it tough to read at certain angles • The crystal is highly reflective, so visibility can be a challenge in bright light or uneven lighting It’s still a solid everyday watch, especially if you appreciate mechanical timepieces and need the second time zone. Just be aware that legibility might take a hit in some conditions.

Big Seiko fan. Own about 10 of the Presage and Prospex models. For my first Seiko 5 I went for the yellow dial model that was a returned item in like new condition. The watch arrived fast, cosmetics and accuracy were perfect however it was already sized and had no spare links. It was slightly too small. The GMT hand according to Seiko tech support wasn’t working either. I later learned that it was likely that it was working correctly however because Amazon ships these watches with no manual I could not read about the operation and the kind lady at Seiko may not have understood either. I returned for exact same item except the second one is new unopened and immediately brought to my jeweler to test accuracy and this second one is running 19 seconds fast. Which surprisingly is within published spec of plus 45 and minus 30 per day. I’m going to keep testing and live with it for a week and see if it improves. As for the design and beauty of this Gmt model it is the one to get in the GMT version because it has the hardlex crystal actually on the bezel and a raised angled main crystal design that is much better in wrist presence than the non GMT version. I’ve tried both in the store and the non GMT version has no discernible beauty and is just uninteresting period. I also found the black/gray dial gmt version with the colored inner bezel to be lifeless too however the blue version was interesting. It appears the yellow gmt reflects the light highlighting the beauty of the watch the best. I would like to see Seiko make one with a white face too.

I was a little skeptic but it is better than expected. Good lume and very bright striking dial. As usual, Seiko bracelets are not the best but easily adjustable - you’ll need to as the bracelet is quite long. It will also look great on a leather or rubber strap giving it a more rugged look. Nice addition to any Seiko collection or as a one off piece.
