I was looking for a simple check writing program to keep track of my personal bills, with some reporting. This is more time consuming and complicated to set up than I anticipated. If I could return it, I would love to. I am not using it.

I paid $84 for this and it will not allow me to download. I tried on my iPad, my iPhone, and it will not download. I want my money back.

If you are not a new subscriber, you will have to jump through hoops to get the validation to work. You will need to create a new Quicken profile. You may need to contact Quicken support for guidance. Enter the validation code through your online Quicken profile, not through the desktop application. When your 'old' file links to your new profile, you may have to relink all of your financial accounts. You may discover that some categories are missing from lesser-known financial institutions and you may need to re-enter categories/transfers between accounts. Is it worth it? For me, it was.

I have used quicken for over 30 years, through different versions, mac and windows and different owners. It is the most comprehensive money manager around. But there is a price to pay - reliability and stability. The current windows version gets updated several times a month. Some updates corrupt your files, so you will see an update that adds new features and the next several updates to fix the crashes it created. When it crashes, it usually corrupts your file. There is no robust method to fix a corrupted file anymore, as they removed that ability. So my recommendation is not to use it if you are starting out and get a simpler more reliable software, or be prepared to invest a LOT of time recovering from bugs if you want all the bells and whistles it provides. At this point, I find it is useful for estimates, but I simply dont trust it enough to depend on the exact numbers it provides. I have sent numerous recommendations to slow down the upgrades and test them thoroughly before releasing, but they seem happy to continue releasing buggy software and have the users test them before they fix it.

Quicken is a great accounting package.

The installation is a joke. We have been trying to get help from Untilgone to give us the info to the business so we can visit with them directly with some of the problems with the installation . We still do not have it installed. I asked for a refund and have not heard anything from Untilgone about that.
