A Bright Smile with Minor Floss to Perfect
Alright, so let's dive into the world of brushing with the Philips Sonicare 4100. I've been using this toothbrush for a few weeks now, and overall, my experience has been quite positive. It's got this sleek, white design that feels just right in your hand, light and easy to maneuver.I mean, who would've thought that brushing could be so, well, thought-provoking? Well, at least in terms of deciding between manual and electric. I tend to think that electric brushes have a certain allure, with their promise of superior clean. And yeah, the Sonicare 4100 delivers on that front. One morning, I realized my coffee stains seemed to be disappearing, slowly but surely. It was one of those 'Is it just me or...?' moments. The Optimal White Sonic brush head really seems to do the trick. Though, I will say, if you're hoping for instant movie-star teeth, you might be setting the bar a bit high. There’s a useful travel case included which feels like a blessing if you're bouncing around places a lot, and that USB charger? Super practical. No bulky adapters, just plug and go.But, here's a tiny quibble - the brush only has one cleaning mode. It'd be nice to have a little bit of variety, you know? Maybe a sensitive option for those days when your gums aren't feeling too feisty? In my experience, this toothbrush is a solid choice if you're looking for cleaner teeth without going overboard on features. It’s a joy to use, with just an occasional wish for a few more options. With a few small tweaks, the Philips Sonicare 4100 could really shine!

Much better than a manual toothbrush
Got this to replace my previous Philips. Nice and slim line with a case. The battery lasts a week or two per charge with 2 brushes a day, timed to 2 minutes each time. The brush heads need replacing every few months. Better than a manual tooth brush. The battery ultimately wears out and can’t be replaced so has to be disposed safely every few years.

Not recommended.
I bought this item in November 2023 and it has just failed after two years of use. The micro-switch has been erratic for a while now and its protective cover has recently developed a hole that not doubt lets water in and is the reason why it just buzzes until it runs out of battery. Philips used to be a great brand and I have several items made in the 1980's that have given fantatsic service and still work. Unfortunately this device is poorly made in China and is a waste of money and resources.

Works well!
It does beter job than manuel brush and same as expensive ones. I found round head brushes a bit small and harsh to gum. This one has 2 settings. Feel good after each brush.

Will die in 18 months, but okay until then
The toothbrush was good, but it broke after 1.5 years. The button cover wore away and then water would get in. From other reviews, I think this is common. Given the price, if you have to replace the entire toothbrush within 2 years it doesn't make much sense. Also, while it was working, it had 2 modes: too weak, or too rough - and it really just needed one in between.

Poor battery life and inferior brushing
I've had several Sonicare toothbrush, however I don't recommend this model (Series 4100). It's a more compact design compared to the 4300 or 5500. It sounds good on paper, but this create 2 issues. First the battery life is vastly inferior compared to the traditional design (Series 4300 and above). After charging it overnight, I already get the blinking orange LED indicating low battery after 4-5 days of use! Second, the motor is inferior and I'm only getting a light clean compared to the standard models (31000 movements per minute maximum, instead of 62000 for the 4300 and 5500 series). This definitely doesn't provide the same thorough clean and my teeth don't feel as smooth as with the larger models. The USB charger is nice on paper, but it's not USB C... So not particularly future proof. And the travel case, although more compact, is more fiddly as the head is not secured in place. All in all, I highly recommend spending another 10-20 pounds on the superior 4300 or 5500 models (just wait for a sale). The compactness of the 4100 makes it an inferior product!
