58260 Aluminium Junior Hacksaw & Mitre Box

A decent hack saw that does the job. As a bonus, you get the Mitre Box. Looking around, the Mitre Box is being sold at the same price as this saw & Mitre Box! That escalates this product into the Bargain Range! Rob :D

Purchased this to do mitre joints on floor edging strips. As others have said the slots have a few burrs on them but not a problem, and it's easy to go off line and cut into the box but that's down to the user not the product. Personally I don't use the hacksaw as I use a razor saw instead, so the hacksaw is just a useful addition to the toolbox.

Everything about this is cheap. The hacksaw feels light and flimsy and is very uncomfortable to hold. The mitre box itself, as others have said, is very soft metal so you end up cutting into it. In the end I used a different hacksaw and used the mitre box to start the cut until I was halfway through, then finished it off without it. So, how come 3 stars when I didn't even use to hacksaw? Because the mitre box helped me do what I needed it for. I couldn't find one on its own that was small enough so I'm being generous. I had to cut some copper central heating pipe in situ, too close to the wall to use a pipe cutter. I couldn't find anything else to do the job and I didn't want to spend a lot because, hopefully, I shouldn't need it again. I knew what I was buying so, at the price, I can't really complain too much but it's not great. Buy cheap, buy twice!

I bought these for cutting the trim to use on the edge of bathroom tiles it is great for that but bear in mind you won’t really cut anything of any size like a piece of timber as the aluminium mitre is very small in physical size it does give the dimensions on the advert but when you actually see it in person it would have limited uses due to the overall size, is good for cutting the trim around my bathroom tiles though.
