MPS Medical Pet Shirt Dog, Surgery Recovery Suit, Blue, Large

Initially I was slightly skeptical as to whether the suit would be comfortable and easy to use. We tried the suit on a couple of times before it was needed to try to get her used to it but she wasn't very keen on it. However, I can safely say I was worrying for no reason. The vet put the suit on her after the operation and as she started her recovery she was perfextly happy. We unbuttoned the back rather than rolling it up we just fastened it to the side and tucked it under so she could toilet. One week on and she is still wearing the suit at night and to go outside to protect her wound. She is very happy to have the suit placed over her head and then we do paw for each leg. It is nice and stretchy so easy to get on and off. The quality is definitely better than I anticipated and washes well. It is a well thought through item with a pouch for a sanitary towel if needed, connectors for a collar and a stitched gap which can be opened for an IV line if required. Our pup is a 13mth old lab and at 23kg she is quite small and measured 58cm so we bought a M. Although there would be room for a wider dog it is pretty snug from top to tail but not too tight. I can wholeheartedly recommend this suit and would not contemplate trying to use a plastic cone again.

Got it for the post neuter recovery and it really worked to stop him licking the surgical site. Was not looking forward to the stress and guilt of the “cone of shame” but with this vest we didn’t need the cone once. Did get a second vest (as advised by manufacturer) as post neuter is 10 - 14 days recovery and could swap vests round while one was being washed. Got the hang of getting it on and off quite quickly. Found it easier to remove the vest entirely rather than roll it up when he needed to toilet. He only misdirected once , but it was raining so didn’t want him sat around in a wet vest anyway. Also after a few days the stretch that makes it so comfortable to wear meant that it was slightly baggier (think a few days of wearing jeans) and I was worried this might give him more to access his scar - so a swap over with a fresh washed vest and it fitted snugly again. A great product that took a lot of the stress out of post neuter recovery, but definitely recommend getting two if needed for more than a few days.

Customers should know that to a dog ( my springer spaniel to be honest) , these suits are highly addictive to wear. I got one for my Spaniel for after his operation as he’s fantastic at getting the cones off . The suit is a godsend . Apart from the fact that when he didn’t need to wear it anymore, he barked at it until I popped it back on …. He loved wearing it . I’ve now weaned him off wearing his gimp suit and I only allow him to wear it for Birthdays and Funerals ( and obviously for medical reasons should one arise ) … X

Used for when my springer spaniel was spade. It fit her well and nice and was light. Toileting was a bit challenging. Had to unpop it and tuck it in or popper it in different ways for her to go out for a wee. It seemed comfortable as she accepted wearing it absolutely fine and it washed and tumble dried well. Would definitely recommend

Good fit and easy to use. My dog came to love getting hers on on a night after her surgery, helped keep her calm while protecting her wounds. Good quality and cheaper to purchase here than through the vet’s surgery

I don't often bother to write reviews but felt compelled to write about this product. It's brilliant! I had my dog spayed and she wouldn't leave the wound alone. My previous dogs have never bothered with their spay wound so much as this one! Had to wear the 'cone of shame' permanently, the minute it was removed she'd be straight round worrying the area. Despite my constant vigilance she got an infection in it and was back on antibiotics. To compound the problem my older dog hated her in it as she crashed and bashed about and I had to separate and watch them constantly. Tried making something similar from a Tshirt but she still managed to get at the wound! Then I spotted the Medical Pet Shirt....what a brilliant product! Really well designed, good quality material and poppers look as if they'll last. Easy to un-pop for toilet trips. Sizing chart was spot on (a medium fitted my female border collie perfectly) and two sets of poppers to make a further adjustment. Slightly looser underneath so air can still get at the wound to heal it. Only a couple of things I'd say; your dog has to be happy with you pulling it over it's head and lifting and putting legs through as it's a snug fit. My dog's very biddable so didn't mind. Also I still use the cone at night because I'm sure if she was determined enough without supervision she could chew through the material, although it's remarkable when she's wearing it she has shown no signs of bothering the area at all! Peace restored in the household, the bruises on the backs of my legs are disappearing (from being bashed with the cone!) my dog is so much happier AND the wound is healing fast! Just wish I'd had it from the start when she came back from the vet.

Bought this suit as a spare after my dog managed to immediately pee on the first surgery suit after his neutering. It's great, very soft and stretchy, my dog got used it quickly and didn't even seem to notice it was on most of the time. He is SUPER flexible though and managed (with a lot of concentrated effort) to move the underside enough to juuuust get to lick his incision, but it took such a lot of work that he didn't bother to try it again. For 90% of dogs I don't think they'd be able to move the suit, mine is a bit of an outlier. If you don't know if it's worth trying one of these in place of a cone I highly recommend giving it a go. Particularly if you have a high energy dog who will otherwise just smash a cone into your legs / the walls / doors/ furniture etc. It's a lot less stressful for everyone if they use a surgery suit, and once you've got the hang of rolling it up far enough for walks it's easy to manage. Only thing I will say is getting your dog into it for the first time may be a struggle, simply because it has to go over their head and then you need to pull their front legs through. If you've not used one before practice doing this BEFORE any surgery, so your dog isn't stressed out when it happens. You will need two suits as they do need washing to keep the area clean, so one as a back up for when the other is in the wash.

Ok - lovely make and fit for a stocky dog as this stretches but still holds firm. It is a good quality jersey t-shirt fabric which washes lovely. Its very nicely sewn and good quality stitching so doesnt snag or split with use. For surgery that you have cover over, it works fine. Also surgical areas that are slightly open and weeping this fabric doesnt stick to the wound so better than anything in that regard. However....... while it fastens great and doesnt ride up (which is also a really good bonus for long term use), that does mean peeing is a real issue if the dog doesnt give much warning. With a dog that gives warning and you can pop it open easy then great. However with a dog thats had intensive surgery (such as ours who had spinal surgery) where you have a lot going on and you need support, using support over the top of this and then struggling to pop open buttons and leave room for urination is a bit tricky. For that reason and that there could have been a hole here for the male dog anatomy, i've taken a star off, but nonetheless a good quality product for other injury sites you dont want the dog to try and scratch or nibble at, and far better than a plastic cone!

Ho acquistato il secondo body su Amazon dopo aver trovato il primo presso il mio veterinario nella turbolenta giornata dell'operazione alla mia barboncina Melody. L'ha protetta in modo mirabile da polvere e da ogni intervento esterno di sollecitazione dannosa. I punti sono rimasti puliti, disinfettati e riparati. Abbiamo evitato il torturante collare di Elisabetta, consentendole riposo e azioni quotidiane in piena tranquillità, sua e di tutti noi. Non avendo trovato il cambio di misura XXS, ho provato nel mio Paese delle Meraviglie e, come sempre, non sono stata delusa. Ora, a punti felicemente levati e in via di guarigione, Melody, tiene ancora per qualche ora il body volentieri. Tessuto tecnico lavabile a mano con delicatezza, gradevolissimo al tatto e privo di fibre dannose o fastidiose. Sono Misure ampie. Controllate bene. Melody è una Toy di 4 kg. Usa, come detto prima la misura 2XS. Perfetta di lunghezza e di avvolgenza toracica.

Habe diesen Body in den Jahren bereits mehrfach bei meinen Hunden genutzt. Er sitzt noch immer perfekt, ist noch immer heile und überhaupt nicht ausgeleiert. Die Rezension schreibe ich nun Jahre, nachdem ich den Body gekauft habe. Ehrlich gesagt, hatte ich es immer vergessen, aber hat auch was Gutes. Man bekommt einen Eindruck, wie die Qualität nach Jahren ist.
