Yes it's water based. But the scent is overpowering. Not my taste I guess. If you want a free full bottle let me know, I'm happy to give it away as right now it sits on a shelf and nobody wants to take it home. But I heard very good things about the other scents from the same brand. It's just I was disappointed and don't want to get another one yet.
