Bought for Christmas present for my grandson, looks to be a fun product that will help with ball control. Looks to be a bit slow but it does wear my grandson out after 30 minutes

The idea of having a little automated opponent to hone my dribbling skills indoors sounded brilliant, especially with the unpredictable British weather! What I Liked: * Engaging for Kids: My younger cousins, who are budding footballers, absolutely loved this. It's genuinely fun to try and outmaneuver the bot, and the different speed settings mean it can be a challenge for various skill levels. * Indoor Practice Solution: For those rainy days or when outdoor space isn't an option, this is a neat way to get some ball touches in. It certainly beats just kicking a ball against a wall. * Helps with Close Control: You really do need to focus on close control and quick feet to keep the ball away from the bot, which is a definite plus for skill development. * Works on Carpet (Mostly): I was a bit sceptical about its performance on carpet, but with the "boost mode," it actually manages fairly well on short-pile carpets. Hard floors are definitely better, but it's usable on carpet. What Could Be Better: * Battery Drain: This thing eats batteries for breakfast! Both the bot and the ball seem to chew through them pretty quickly, so make sure you have a good stock of AA and AAA batteries or invest in some rechargeable ones. * Durability Concerns: While it's great fun, I do have some reservations about its long-term durability. It feels a bit on the lighter side, and I wonder how it would hold up to repeated, enthusiastic use. * "Smart" is a Strong Word: Don't expect a tactical genius. The bot mostly just chases the ball directly. While it's effective for its purpose, it's not going to simulate a real opponent's clever movements or learn from your play. * Can Be Repetitive: For older or more skilled players, the novelty might wear off fairly quickly as the bot's movements become predictable. It's more of a fun gadget for casual practice than a serious training tool. It's engaging and offers a unique practice experience. Just be prepared for the battery consumption and don't expect a high-tech AI opponent. It's a fun addition to a football-mad household, but perhaps best seen as a toy with training benefits rather than a professional piece of equipment.

Ordered this in November (plenty of time for a Christmas present) for my son. Opened on Christmas day and my son was very disappointed, set up as per instructions (new batteries in both the bot and the ball) didn't do anything it was supposed to, drove in a straight line past the ball and out of the play area (the 4 green discs) into the wall constantly. Tried for about 2 hours to get it to work correctly with no success, simply wasn't responding to the ball or the play area, had to explain to my son why Father Christmas had delivered a faulty toy for a present!! Contacted Golden Bear Toys (the manufacturer) who's response proved to be pretty poor, sending instructions on how to set up and to make sure we'd put new batteries in bot and ball (which I'd done for 2 hours on Christmas day morning and was stated on the email sent to them) and if still not working they would exchange but wouldn't be able to until March which is unacceptable for a replacement Christmas present for a child, very poor! Won't be wasting money on another or any other Golden Bear Toy products in the future, stay well clear!

It is my child’s favourite toy and he really enjoys playing with it.It has great Durability and is really easy to use.

My football mad son got this for Christmas and has loved using it. It is a toy and a tool to aid him in his football training. Can already see the difference in his footwork since using it. He loves beating his top score, and also loves competing with his brother too. I love that it keeps him off of devices and keeps him active when it’s raining outside whilst also staying on the floor (rather than balls flying through the air accross my living room!). I really recommend this for all ages, as my 11 year old also loves playing with it when his little brother lets him! So glad we got one before they sold out.

Bought as a Christmas present for my son,, on Christmas Day the only thing it did was spin around like a drunken R2-D2, much to our disappointment. However... I spent an hour or so online to see if this was a common issue and if there was an easy fix before returning it. Turns out the fix was simple, it appeared only two AAA batteries fitted the ball, it was three! Shame the instructions don't include this detail as I appear not to be alone in making this mistake. Once I had fitted the third battery on Boxing Day, mu son gave it another go and instantly Soccerbot started chasing the ball and he played happily with it as much as he could. Talk about a 180 turnaround, from disappointment to happiness, it was only a AAA battery away..

I had never seen anything like this before, so I wasn’t sure what to expect— and I’m super glad we gave it a shot! The setup was super easy, and the instructions were clear, so we had it up and running in no time. Once we got started, it was a blast. The game is pretty addictive, and we ended up competing to see who could keep the ball going the longest. My friends and I mostly play on Speed 3– it definitely makes the game more intense and keeps you on your toes. But if you're playing with younger or less experienced players, I'd suggest using one of the slower speeds to keep things fun for all ages, too. The built-in score tracker is a nice touch. It adds an extra level of competition, which made us try even harder to beat each other’s scores. We ended up getting really into it, trying to outlast each other and rack up more points. Plus, it’s a good way to practice soccer skills like coordination and reflexes, especially if you can’t get outside to play in the colder months. Overall, this product is a lot of fun—whether you're just looking to kill some time or work on your soccer game indoors. Definitely recommend it for anyone looking for something fun and new to try out!

Very disappointing, first it arrived 3 weeks late. Then the bot does never recognise the smart ball and just spins around. Even when the ball is right in front of the bot. We never saw it working and no clarity how to fix or replace it. Almost 100 SGD for such a waste….
