The BEST purchase!
This is a 12 out of 10 purchase!!! I was honestly skeptical about this and expected my husband to hate it but I was so wrong! This is hands down the BEST grill! It's big enough for our family of 8, it's compact and portable! It is incredibly versatile and really makes the best food very quickly!! This grill heats up quickly and maintains the temp until the food is done! So easy to use and I'm telling you, the food you prepare is delicious!!

Low Maintenance Smoker
My first try at smoking was with my dad's Weber Smoky Mountain, and while the smoker itself was capable, my fire control was lacking, so every thing I tried to smoke on that ended poorly... which really sucks for spending 5-8 hours on something just to screw it up. I bought this because I became interested in electrically controlled smokers, but I wasn't ready to dive all-in on something like a Searwood 600. I'm temporarily living in a rented property on a work contract, so I didn't want something big that I'd have to make room to bring back home with me. The Woodfire XL isn't very large or very heavy for what it is, so it's pretty easy to store indoors and pull out when needed. I've had 3 weekends of smoking now, and all three (baby back ribs, pork butt, beef short ribs) have turned out fantastically. It's amazing what I can cook when I don't have to spend all my time tweaking vents on the bottom of the smoker and hoping I judged it right. I was also checking some other data on these cooks as I figured out this machine that I'll talk about below. The Ninja App seems pretty handy, but it's not as nice as something like the Meater Probe's App that gives alarms and estimates cooking time. I used a Meater Pro 2 in conjunction with the Ninja Probes, and I have to say the Ninja probes seem very good. By the end of all 3 cooks the probes were all within a few degrees of one another. The real prize though was the Meater's Ambient sensor. What I discovered from it was that the cooking grate at the bottom burns about 10 degrees hotter than what the lid sensor detects, and the air inside the smoker typically sits 15-30 degrees hotter than where you set it (visible as the green line in my Meater's temperature graph). This was backed up by both my ribs and pork butt finishing faster than expected cooking at 250 and 240 respectively. The great news is that the fluctuations are extremely regular, and the temperature restores very quickly after opening the lid (the big spikes on the graph), probably due to the relatively small cooking space. If you don't want to cook something above 250 though, I'd set your grill for about 230 and you'll spend most of your time in that range. The only complaint I have is the smoke box. The Ninja smokebox is tiny. I was hoping this would be an almost "Set it and forget it" machine, but over long cooks like the beef plate ribs or pork butt you still have to be ready to manage your pellet fire. A full load of pellets (I used Kona Hickory Pellets because I don't trust mystery blends) lasts about 45 minutes, and I needed to hit the Woodfire button and go through the ignition cycle each refill. I was a bit worried that the immediate smoke from the pellets starting to burn would be bitter, but I haven't really noticed it so it wasn't as big an issue as I initially worried. Overall I am very satisfied with this machine and will continue to use it all summer. If I eventually decide to get a bigboy pellet grill I may even keep this one around for smoking smaller items, or give it to my friends who have been looking at my food pictures and wanting to try smoking meat themselves.

Fantastic portable smoker.
Love it. Cooks even and flavor is awesome. You can really pump a lot of smoke into the food in a short period of time. Cooking steaks low and slow is amazing. Wings, ribs, sausage, any meat you want. Love the app for monitoring time and temp also.

Great little all in one for cooking.
First pellet grill and I went all out for this little thing. I got this because I enjoy the smoke flavor of charcoal grilling and wanted the solid heat for knowing when the food will be done. There is a lot of support online for these and a lot of helpful people also. Wife so far loves most everything I have cooked on this. There is a learning curve, but if you have done any smoking or charcoal grilling it is not bad. You can time cook a lot of things. You will get solid heat performance with not having to add lots of pellets. Pellets are just for the smoke flavor. There are also lots of add ons for a flat skillet or pizza stones. This is a great setup that you do not have to worry about the gas tank or running out of charcoal to keep cooking (just have to have electricity).

The Ninja Woodfire Pro Connect XL is an absolute game-changer in the world of outdoor cooking!
The Ninja Woodfire Pro Connect XL is an absolute game-changer in the world of outdoor cooking! Forget everything you thought you knew about grilling and smoking โ this machine does it all, and it does it exceptionally well. From the moment I unboxed it, I was impressed by the build quality; it's clearly built to last. But the real magic happens when you start cooking. The size is truly XL โ perfect for feeding a crowd or for meal prepping like a pro. The dual temperature zones give you incredible versatility, allowing you to sear steaks at blazing hot temperatures while simultaneously smoking ribs to fall-off-the-bone perfection. The Woodfire technology infuses your food with an authentic, smoky flavor that rivals any dedicated smoker I've used. And the best part? It's so easy to use. The Bluetooth connectivity and smart controls take the guesswork out of grilling. You can monitor temperatures, adjust settings, and even follow recipes directly from your phone. No more hovering over the grill! I've made everything from juicy burgers and perfectly grilled vegetables to slow-smoked brisket and wood-fired pizzas, and every single dish has been a masterpiece. The included probe thermometers ensure perfect internal temperatures every time. Cleanup is also a breeze, which is a huge plus. Honestly, I can't recommend the Ninja Woodfire Pro Connect XL enough. It's worth every penny. If you're serious about outdoor cooking and want a grill that can do it all, look no further. This is the ultimate outdoor cooking machine!

Ninja knocked it out of the park!
This grill is awesome! I've cooked several steaks, salmon, chicken, and pizza so far and everything has come out perfectly. It's super easy to use and adding smoke with the optional woodfire tech function makes a huge difference in the flavor. It also cooks faster than I was expecting. I reverse seared 3 steaks on the grill mode and turned on the smoke feature and they were ready in like 10-15 minutes at a perfect medium rare. Highly recommend it. The only reason I'm not giving it a full 5 stars is because it came slightly damaged on the inside. Nothing that affects functionality so not a big deal. The grill itself is a 10/10. The app and dual thermometers are accurate and user friendly. Great product!

Excellent engineering. wowed by the results!
I have BBQed , grilled and smoked for years. I own every type of cooking device. I am pretty close to a master at this....I will tell you. With this woodfire grill there is a learning curve. But by watching others and practicing on your own. This Appliance comes 95% close to a wood or charcoal grill. And that's in flavor and bark. It blows away any gas grill. The only thing I cook on a gas grill is anything with a high fat content. But with this no more gas grill. Getting propane is a hassle. In my opinion on smaller cuts of meat it over smokes, but you just use less pellets or turn off the unit when you think you have enough smoke . Then restart it without smoke. Also this cooks one third faster than you are used to with a standard bbq...so you have to watch it and dial in your settings. After that its great! With any BBQer if you don't own a high quality instant read thermometer and temperature chart . You will be hit and miss. You will fail your guests....LOL This thing is built like a tank. The top is double walled and the unit is kind of heavy. The heating element under the grill plate covers the entire bottom. This defiantly sears the meat and no cold spots. Ok now the kicker...no mess! the pellet hopper leaves almost no ash and when the grate cools, wash it in the sink with hot water, dish soap and a brush.... So this is the only thing that is different from a charcoal or gas grill. The meat is a little wetter when cooked. Because the juice does not fall in the fire. So your hamburgers do not have that drier texture. If the engineer's made the grill grate deeper to lift the meat higher up that MIGHT help....just guessing I highly recommend this for personal or a small group, for fast , flavorful cooking with ease of clean up.

Wowza
I am a smoked food bbq guy and have been blown away with the results. This puts more smoke in 30 minutes on my food than my other pellet smokers and wood fired cookers do in 3 hours. We'll thought out. Super easy to clean and no open grill grate for drippings to fall through. Cold smoked cheese is excellent as well as smoked pizza. Made a better brisket than one i had won first place with on a different smoker. Stable cooking temperature delivers food faster than the wood pellet fired smokers, without the temperature swings they have trying to balance smoke and heat. negatives is the pellet hopper. Even tho it is small it's still holds more pellets than you need for a steak or burgers or a single pizza. You must fill the box for proper ignition, I bring this up because the pellet box isn't easy to remove when hot. When you are done cooking you of course turn the grill off but the pellets will continue to burn. Wish they had a little handle on the box to be able to remove them. App is excellent. Grill is sufficient in size for most items and is extremely portable. Awesome to have little bags of pellets instead of the big 40lbs. I truly believe this ended my quest for bbq smokers.
