Less exciting if I have to fish it out from under the couch every morning.** A: It's 3.2" in diameter. Slightly larger than a baseball. **Q: Are any of the colors transparent? I have the pink & want a 2nd color that lets me see how much food is left inside. The blue looks too dark.** A: The green is very light. You would be able to see darker colored food or treats through it with no problem. The orange would also be similar to the green. **Q: How to you take it apart if it becomes full of ants?** A: We had a similar issue (not ants, but crumbs, and it made me cringe). We called the manufacturer and got one rep who was clueless, and another who said they don't come apart but for the small hole at the top. So we mixed dawn, vinegar, and water, and used pipe cleaners. We'd shake it, rotate the top to make the feed holes bigger or smaller, and continue to shake, and detail the spaces we could reach with a pipe cleaner.Then we ran it through the dishwasher with a 'sanitary' cycle.They looked (and smelled) like new.I hope this helps! **Q: Can anyone who has had success w/ their cat and this ball recommend specific cat food brands that work with the design?** A: I absolutely love these for my fat cat Samson! We use Kirkland brand from Costco. It's perfect for the small setting and doesn't feed too much even at the biggest setting.
