Best and worst. Loved it
So funny about these. The mixed reviews are real on this. This is both my favorite salmiak and outrageously least favorite of all. The diamond ones are the best salmiak flavor I've had, I wish they were bigger pieces. But! The discs are the worst flavor of candy I can imagine a human would imagine. In the same bag! A bear and a wolf fighting, their ghosts (ammonia and mint(!!?) remain. It cracks me up in the way the kid in me loved being grossed out in an eeew, try way. So, there you have it 5 stars.

A very positive experience!
My package arrived in excellent shape and the licorice is fresh and delicious! I love salty licorice and am always happy to have a taste of food from the country my grandparents came from.

Real Finnish Licorice! Not for the faint of heart!
I spent some time in Finland years ago and really loved their salmiakki and eating this took me back to tromping around Helsinki looking for some Karhu beer. The Fins LOVE this stuf and it's basically their national flavor. You can honestly find it in almost every form: candies, ice cream, cookies, crackers, gum, breath mints, etc... Now, this stuff is black licorice but on steroids. You REALLY need to like black licorice to even get through one piece. It's also salty so that's another added layer of an already intense taste. Some of the pieces in this bag have a menthol flavor to them which is not my favorite but to each their own. Strong recommend buying this if you have had salmiakki before, love black licorice, or just want to know what those Scandinavians are chomping on during the brutal winter months.

Fazer Salmiakki
I love the salty black licorice. I usually buy it when I'm in Norway. Always good

Seasoned salted licorice consumer. ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTING. Buyer BEWARE!!!!
Absolutely disgusting!!! I have had many salted licorices before, and this stuff is horrible. Half of the bag are diamond shaped and are okay, pretty good even. But the circle ones that make up the other half are beyond NASTY. They seriously taste like how Vicks vaporub smells. I don't know what this company is thinking or where some of these reviews are coming from. Buyer beware!!!

Not bad.
I'd heard about Finnish Salmiakki for a while, always wanted to try, but never knew if what I was viewing online was proper salmiakki or just /called/ salmiakki. Recently I met a Finn who recommended this brand because Fazer is THE sweet maker for Finland. That out of the way, you know it's proper Salmiakki. There are three flavours in the bag. Two of them are VERY salty to my Chinese-American palate; they're not awful, but if you aren't expecting it, it could be an unpleasant experience. The third flavour is still salty, but slightly firm and has a flavour that reminds me of cough drops; not wholly unpleasant, but not really something I'd jump up and volunteer to eat, again, if someone asked. However, the aftertaste it left in my mouth was VERY pleasant, leaving me feeling cool and, I dare say, fresh for quite a long time after. Over all, I'm not dissatisfied with my purchase. It allowed me to experience something new, and something from a culture from far away, that makes me happy. I will probably pop one of the third flavour into my mouth occasionally if I want to feel fresh, but I may just end up avoiding the other two flavours until I forget how they tasted.

A really unique taste
I've always had been a liquorice fan ever since I was a little girl, and it never bothered me to give this kind of liquorice candy that is all the way from Finland a try. The Salmiakki mix has a mix of three different kinds of Salmiakki in a bag; with each touch of flavor in every single bite. However, it's always important to eat only 3 or 4 pieces of the Salmiakki mix for too much of the saltiness, and the liquorice isn't good for you to consume. Either way, it's great.

Great value, too strong for me
I thought having a mix of the salmiak would be great, as maybe I could tell what I liked or disliked. However, when they arrived I was disappointed because the flavor was just not what I was looking for. Call me an american or whatever, but I believe that licorice should have at least ๐ด๐ฐ๐ฎ๐ฆ sugar or sweetener, or at least a natural licorice sweet taste, but these had none. They were very bitter and very salty. Not an ounce of sugar in them, it made these feel less like candy and more like medicine. of course, I still ate the whole bag, but I definitely wasn't as pleased. I would rate them not as harsh as Piratos or Rheila Pastels, less than the insides of the tyrkisk peber too. They were though, much more harsh than katje's Salizge herring (my favorite - its very sweet and has a perfectly strong taste). So overall, I would rate them 3/5. You do get a good amount of licorice for your money, though.
