Built from durable molded cast acrylic, this skimmer offers three tuning options for easy adjustments, ensuring optimal performance and a pristine aquatic environment. ## Description The pump will run at a low speed within 30s just after the power is on and then speed up gradually. Just to prevent overflow after the sudden power-on. Overflow may occur during dial-in period. Adjust the air intake and the water outlet to reach the appropriate water level. After that, the water level will drop. And it needs to be adjusted again. As the surface tension of the bubble is constantly changing, this operation may need to be repeated several times before the skimmer breaks in. It usually needs a couple of days to one or two weeks. After that, adjust the air intake and water outlet slightly to achieve stable performance. There are three places to tune the skimmer. 1.Move the skimmer body up and down to adjust the aquarium water level to the recommended water level line marked on the skimmer body. 2. Rotate the air intake valve to adjust the air volume. It is recommended to turn it to its maximum at the beginning. 3.Rotate the collection cup which is connected with the inner tube to adjust the water outlet. This process requires patience, as a small amount of adjustment can cause significant changes in the water level inside the skimmer. After using all three of these skimmers, my hands down choice in the #1 position is this skimmer, and yes I will absolutely be buying another one for my other nano reef tank. For comparison purposes, here are my thoughts on the other two skimmers on the list. First up is the Magtool DC Protein Skimmer. The Aquatic Life 151 Protein Skimmer, however, does fit in the 1st slot of the Fluvial 13.5g tank quite well (but still not perfectly like the IOAIO does). This one does in fact work quite well at producing dark dry skimmate, but it is a little on the noisy side. **If you are in the market for a protein skimmer that fits your nano fish tank, hands down my recommendation is this skimmer, the IOAIO Mini Protein Skimmer.
