Photo Scanner Ephoto Z300, Scans 4x6 Inch Photos in 2 Seconds, Auto Crop and Deskew with CCD Sensor, Supports Mac and PC

When I started to look for a photo scanner I was going to spend £400 plus on a multi-feed scanner, I'm glad I didn't. As it's very unlikely the very small photos from 40 - 90 years old would have been able to go in the auto feeder.That said this is a great piece of kit and works very well. you have to feed each photo but take's in the photo once the photo reaches a certain point and scans very quickly.I have scanned over 1500 photos over about 10 hours and this includes filing them etc. far quicker than an all-in-one lifting and placing each one. I already have four other scanners 2No A4 BW both sheetfed, 1no A4 single sheet colour and 1no A3/A4 multi feed/single sheet colour. Three are Brother, one HP. All are very good but none does this job as well as the PlustekSome reviews complain about the software but it does what it says on the tin its simple to use and once you get into the rhythm very easy. There is a limit of 50 photo for each batch but all you have to do is save this batch in a location of your choice and start again you can scan 1 or fifty it doesn't matter and save each time.The quality is fine and when you consider the age of some of the photos you are likely to scan and the cameras our ancestors used. This scanner brings out a good image sometimes better than the original. I am very pleased with it. One note, this scanner does not scan negatives for that you would need a Plustek OpticFilm 8200i SE which is about £300.It's been very good value for money especially when you consider the competition.

I bought this in place of an Epson V600 whcih I could never get working after 4 hours of dicking around. That was a flatbed photo scanner. This is a top-loader.This is a top-loader photo scanner which does docs as well. Set-up took <5 mins including downloading the drivers. So far it has been excellent. 300dip jpg wizzes through and 6oo dpi jgp a smidge longer. It does all normal formats though I haven't tested them. I did 60 photos in 25 mins including faff time, and have hundreds to go so am really glad. Does sizes A4 down to passport size. The feeder auto-centres when you feed in. Lots of functionality. The cost of getting the photos digitised was roughly £0.80p/photo so it definitely made sense to me to buy.Only a couple of whines - could be some documentation and the target directories could be easier to change. You need to wait for the scan process to finish before the next one can be done even though the photo has already come out of the bottom.Good thing is that the photos are grouped as you put them in but not saved so you can select them all and put them into a specific folder, but once saved to the folder you can't edit them again unless you re-scan or use another package. So far I am really impressed with how simple it was to set up and use - definitely intuitive. For smaller photos you can put them in two at a time to create a single image.The footprint is roughly A5 deep and high, and A4 wide so nowhere the footprint needed for a flatbed. Plus the ergonomics of an intuitive top-loader make it quick and easy to use - no dicking around with lids and having to place photos in a specific area. Doesn't do negatives though, but not an issue for me.So far a great buy - definitely reccommended!

I quite like the machine and the software is reasonably easy to load and work with. It scans pictures very quickly, as advertised. The bundled software for picture 'enhancement' is a bit basic for some work required on older pictures. Due to it's angled scanner surface, app. 45 degrees, it has to be propped up to get a more level surface for larger A4 sized pictures, and pictures stuck on backing card. It has the facility to create/store files as .pdf. which have made it very useful for scanning documents, as well as pictures.

There are not many options for scanners to quickly reduce the number of stored photographs and photograph albums. Flatbed scanners are too slow. Having reviewed the options I settled on the Plustek ephoto Z300 and I am pleased that I did. It was a pleasant surprise to receive a helpful email from the vendor before I received the printer ( using Amazon Prime too!). Setup was easy. I did not have a cd drive on my laptop to install the supplied software. I could only find drivers on line so I use an old PC and copied the CD onto a USB stick. On loading this onto my laptop I was informed of a newer software version on line. This quickly downloaded and installed. I then installed and calibrated the printer and was scanning within 10 minutes. The unit has a nice small footprint and is quiet in operation. The bundled software is easy to use. I chose a location in my cloud, changed the scan dpi to 600 and quickly scanned the contents of one photo album. The software does permit rotation and editing. Bearing in mind that we could not do this when the photos were taken and printed and the fact that the cameras in my youth that I could afford were pretty basic I am very happy with simply scanning and not adjusting - I have about 50 albums to scan! The results are fine , memories are safely preserved and space in my house is recovered. The scans are quick, 300 dpi is very quick, 600 dpi takes a little longer. Feeding the photos is very easy. I have a flatbed scanner but chose this for speed and ease of use for scanning many photos and it is a good choice. I have also scanned documents with it. They are also quick and with good results. In short an excellent scanner for the price to do exactly the job that I wanted it to complete

First time reviewing an item bought on Amazon:Plustek Photo Scanner Ephoto Z300.The setup was done in less than a few minutes after downloading the software/drivers.So easy to use, and the quality of the scans was great; no, they were more than great—they were more than perfect. The software can fix almost any issue from the original image, 99.999% of the time. There was one image I scanned as I was curious if it could fix the colors, and wow did it! It also improves the lighting as well as the colors; in some photos, the result was better than the original.Once I got the hang of it, in a couple of hours, I had scanned and improved the quality of more than 1,000 images.I have at least 2,000 left to scan, mostly photos of my family when we were much younger, and even very old photos of my parents from the '40s and their parents from much earlier.HIGHLY RECOMMENDED; would definitely promote this item.I gave 5/5 but if I could I would give, 100/100

If you have thousands of photos you'd like to scan them this does the job brilliantly.It's easy to operate all you do is install the software and just place the photo in the front of the scanner and the scanner will pull the photo through, it literally takes seconds to scan a photo.The scanner can scan at 300 or 600 dpi (dots per inch), I could not see hardly any difference between the two dpi settings, the higher dpi setting does take longer to scan, but most photos are 6x4 or 7x5 and would not need scanning at the higher dpi.Once you have scanned your photos you can save them onto your computer or hardrive and put them into folders.It can scan all sizes of photos from photo booth (passport size) photos to A5.You can also edit the photos before you save them using the same scanning software, it does a good enough job of improving bad photos.So far I've scanned 6 thousand photos, I would have given up at the first hundred using a flat be scanner.It is expensive but if you have family or friends who could make use of the scanner then I'm sure you could recoup some of the outlay.

I have hundreds (possibly over 1000) old printed photos. I have a flat bed scanner as part of an AIO printer but I cannot begin to imagine how long it would take to scan them all using that. So I bought this PlusTek Ephoto scanner. Basically it's awesome, it's easy to setup and use and VERY FAST. I've already scanned a few hundred photos in an hour or so. The software has a few foibles and glitches but basically gets the job done. I would totally recommend.

Ich hatte ca.1500 Papier Fotos, Farbe und s/w und wollte mich von der Last befreien.Ich habe mich informiert und mich für den plustek ePhoto entschieden und war bereits beim ersten gescannten Foto sofort begeistert!!!Er scannt schnell:Er benötigt lediglich 20 Sekunden bei 600 dpi vom einführen des Fotos bis zum Abschalten des Scanns.Bei 300 dpi benötigt er sogar nur 5 Sekunden.Er scannt stets gerade:Er rückt die Fotos automatisch gerade, auch wenn man diese schräg ansetzt.Super Software:Die mitgelieferte Software ist für die normale Bearbeitung voll ausreichend! Selbst vergilbte Fotos sind mit einem oder manchmal zwei Klicken wieder wie neu! Dabei ist die Software sehr übersichtlich aufgebaut und zu bedienen. Wer dann noch mehr möchte kann ein Bildbearbeitungsprogram verknüpfen.Farben:Die Farben entsprechen zu 95% den Farben des Fotos! Keine Pixel, keine Streifen!Mir gefällt der Scanner wegen seiner Scanqualität, der einfachen Bedienung und Geschwindigkeit. Die Fotos fallen nach dem Scan einfach unten heraus, ich habe ihn am Rand des Schreibtisches aufgestellt und auf den Boden einen Karton gestellt, fertig.Es macht wirklich Spass und für 200€ war es die Sache wirklich wert! Und nun werde ich ihn guten Gewissens an Freunde weiter verkaufen, die ebenfalls ihre Fotos digitalisieren möchten.Kaufempfehlung! 5 Sterne+

Like many others, I have multiple boxes of old photos, and I've started on the project of converting them to digital images. I put a lot of time into researching photo scanners, and the ones I was interested in were pretty pricey. Timewise, this project is out of the question using the flatbed scanner available in my printer. After a lot of research, I decided on this Plustek scanner. I've had it for about 7 or 8 months now, and I love it. You can scan up to 50 photos at a time with no buttons or adjustments - just feed the photos in one at a time. At 300dpi, the process is fast.The images drop into Plustec's software, and you have the ability to do some editing and color adjustment. I've found that this software works well for me, is easy to use, and is all I need. I just want to get all these photos scanned in and organized and I'm not terribly interested in any serious editing at this point. I'm especially happy with the color enhancement that's available for those old color photos from decades past that are fading or turning yellow - it really gives those photos new life, just by clicking on a button or two. I have other photo editing software on my laptop, and I'll worry about serious editing later, if I even decide to go that far. After I've made any quick color adjustments, I just move the photos onto my hard drive, where I can organize them., and save them on an external hard drive.The Plustek scanner does a great job and has a very attractive price tag. The user manual is detailed and very helpful. I've heard good things about the customer service, but I haven't needed to use it. There's also a case available for it here on Amazon, and I keep it in the case on my desk to eliminate dust. The scanner doesn't take up much room on the desk, so I keep it there to work on my scanning project when I have a little extra time. I recommend this scanner for anybody who's looking to tackle a photo archiving project without breaking the bank.

Absolutely brilliant for the average photographer to scan old photos. Fast, easy to use, plug and play. Love this new gizmo.

Im very happy with this. I bought it some time ago to scan through my boxes and boxes of photos - a long, slow task made much, much easier with this very efficient scanner.

Dovendo scannerizzare foto di famiglia in grande quantità erano anni che cercavo qualcosa di più veloce rispetto ad uno scanner piano dove devi mettere la foto, lanciare la scannerizzazione, alzare coperchio, togliere la foto ed inserirne un'altra etc etc........capite bene che scannerizzare così 1500 foto viene male!!! Mi sono imbattuto in questo scanner di un marchio Plustek che non è certo l'ultimo arrivato e di cui avevo già uno scanner per negativi e diapositive che funzionava molto bene. Appena l'ho visto ho subito fatto ricerche sul sito per capire le sue caratteristiche e per quello che dovevo fare io (scannerizzare 1500/2000 foto a 300 dpi) era perfetto. L'ho quindi acquistato e si è rivelato molto meglio di quello che pensavo....oltre ogni aspettativa. La scannerizzazione a 300 dpi è velocissima e in una serrimana ho già scannerizzato 800 foto. Oltre a questa velocità mi ha piacevolmente stupito anche il software di cattura perché consente molte funzioni di miglioramento della foto. Proprio quello che cercavo. È tutte queste funzionalità sono sempre molto intuitive e automatiche. Cercavo proprio questo. Non sto dicendo che sia lo scanner migliore del mondo ma è un ottimo mix tra qualità e velocità. Non volevo perdere mezz'ora a foto per correggerla.......volevo proprio qualcosa che sistemasse la foto al volo rendendola più che discreta. Pensate a foto del 1920 o 1930 o anche foto di solo 40 anni fa tutte ingiallite e virare. Perdere 30 minuti a foto........avrei finito fra 20 anni!!!! Con questo attrezzo in una sola settimana come dicevo ne ho fatte 800 e tutte corrette al volo e con ottimi risultati. Ho provato anche la scannerizzazione a 600 dpi giusto per provarla e funziona sicuramente bene ma a 600 la scannerizzazione diventa molto più lenta....cosa peraltro dichiarata anche nelle specifiche. Esegue scannerizzazione solo a 300 e 600 dpi e nella maggior parte delle volte è più che sufficiente. In soldoni un grandissimo strumento che mi sta salvando da un lavoro infinito. Unica nota negativa: avrei voluto che applicasse in automatico i miglioramenti software a tutte le foto e invece sono costretto a selezionare una alla volta ad applicargli le correzioni. Poco male......è una operazione molto veloce. Per me quindi consigliatissimo. Roberto.
