I can say that it has made all the difference in my comfort. I have not noticed any flattening. When it is cold, it is a bit stiff and more firm until it warms up. At that point it does conform more to the shape of you sitting in it but returns to normal when you get up. I find it very comfortable. **Q: My wife is 5'0" and needs lift in the car. How much lift will this provide?** A: Well, that depends on how hot it is outside/inside the car. If it is a hot day this cushion has much more give. If it's cold, it takes a while to sink in but once it warms up it will depress a bit. Realistically - and this is just an estimation - it only gives you an inch of height. Probably not enough for someone who is 5'0" **Q: Is this latex free?** A: As far as I know. Pad is polyurethane foam.
