35mm F/1.6 Prime E Mount Lens Kit for Sony E-Mount APS-C Mirrorless Cameras, Sony A7/A7S/A7R, A7 II/A7S II/A7 R II, A9/A99 II, A6500, A6300, A6000, A5100, NEX-7, NEX-5/5C/5N/5R, NEX-VG10E

To begin with, I am a Beginning Photographer, so I am not an expert on Lenses. I also received this Lens as a gift.The Newyi 35mm F1.6 Lens is a great small Lens. The Lens is completely made of metal and so are the included Adapter Ring, Macro Rings, and Lens Hood. The only plastic parts of this lens are the three included lens caps, which is understandable. There is one rear lens cap and two front caps. One is for the Lens and one is if you use the Lens Hood. I did not expect the Macro Rings and Lens Hood to be made of metal.I feel that this is a great “Three Purpose Pocket Lens.” By this I mean that on my Sony A5000 it is very small and fits in my pocket. I am able to bring this everywhere I go. The three purposes that this Lens has are;1. ARTSY- when the Aperture is from about F1.6 - F4 this Lens has a very interesting look to it. The photos are soft with a nice bokeh. It also has a bit of haze and a purple tint to parts of the photo. It is a very Artsy Lens and gives a nice look to the photos.2. SHARP- when the Aperture is from about F5.6 - F16 the Lens loses the softness, haze, purple tint, and most of the artsy bokeh. It just becomes a very sharp standard 35mm Lens.3. MACRO- the included Macro Rings are very small and I am able to fit them on my camera strap or just about anywhere. This makes it very easy to carry with my camera wherever it goes. Also, because they are made of metal, I do not have to worry about them breaking.I have included five photos to show how this Lens performs.The two photos of the Stick in snow, shows the difference between the Artsy and Sharp Apertures. In the photos, you can see the softness and purple tint in the Artsy Apertures. Then you can see how sharp the photos are when using the Sharp Apertures.The photo of the Landscape shows how soft the edges of the photo will be. This is more of a Portrait Lens.The photo of the Splash was taken with one Macro Ring and the photo of the Hot Wheel was taken with two Macro Rings.If you would like to see these photos larger and in more detail. I post all the photos on my Flickr, JoeDPictures. I created an Album just for this Lens.Since this is a low cost Lens, I also tried to turn this Lens into a Reverse Globular Lens. It worked somewhat. Those photos are in my Flickr Album also.The Newyi 35mm Lens is a great small lens. I carry this Lens with me everywhere I go. It is so small; it fits in the pocket of my small camera bag. Also during winter, this Lens lets in a ton of light. I was able to use my Camera at the fastest Shutter Speed. I would definitely recommend this Lens.
