Can this hold a sw .40 with 4.5" barrel

I bought this holster because it was big. My fullsize Glock 21 fits with room to spare. It should be (with a minor tweek here or there) a go to holster for most any caliber.

Can other holsters be used with this harness? I just want this for the drop leg straps.

I do not know the size and shape of the particular pistol model you mentioned but since this "holster," as I described in my review, is actually pieces of fabric with Velcro, you should be able to make it fit (or, wrap around the pistol).
