Rainer Werner Fassbinder Commemorative Collection: Volume 1 - 1969-1972 [DVD]

I have to say I didn't particularly enjoy this box set. Although it has the usual standards of world cinema: good black and white/ colour photography etc., I found the films weakfish in story and the narratives lacked a human thread.I didn't like Fassbinder's treatment of women in his early films.The only film in the set which was relatively passable was the bitter tears of Petra Von Kant.I am hoping that volume 2 is better.

Most of the important early films by this film maker are in this box set. Though I am not a fan of Fassbinder, the low price of the set is the main reason for purchasing it. Recommended.
