It's amazing how having the right tool makes the job easier. No more pliers slipping off hose clamps. The one with the extension makes the hard to reach clamps less of a headache. The locking feature is so nice!

These are excellent pliers that I've used to successfully compress dozens of automobile compression clamps of varying sizes. The pliers are well constructed, and while not "heavy duty," they are sturdy enough for a serious home mechanic, and could potentially hold up in a professional environment. The pliers are comfortable to use and the rubber handles provide for a secure grip. The design allows for force multiplication of exerted grip, so even stiff clamps can be fully compressed with one hand. The pliers tips enable easy positioning on clamp ears, and once seated, slippage is rare. The pliers incrementally lock as the handles are squeezed which helps prevent hand fatigue, and once compressed to the desired amount, since the pliers automatically lock in position, you can release your grip and free up your hand. The straight jaws are well designed and it's pretty easy to reach m9st clamps, even if located in a limited space area or positioned at an awkward angle. I've actually been able to lock onto clamps and compress them blind, just by relying on feel. I wish I had this year's ago- it would have saved so much frustration, time, and effort! Five stars, all day.

Great item. Durable and seems to work like it’s supposed to.

Considering the long hose clamp plier tool with the wire cable is the same price as buying this whole four piece kit I'd say it was well worth it. We ended up only using the wire cable tool but the other tools will be useful in the future. There's much versatility in this kit and it felt very durable with a good grip and design.

Pros: Price, ratcheting teeth lock, grip, swivel head. Cons: Snap ring design, handles too long, teeth locking not strong So it earns 3 stars because it completed the job of me removing and putting on new Toyota hose clamps during my radiator replacement project. It loses 1.5 star for only *literally* completing it, the snap ring for the countersunk cap just must have given up and was gone, but luckily I had just gotten the last clip in place so HEY that worked but now the tool can't be used again. For improvements to get the full 5, the handles are a bit too long which makes tight spaces difficult (such as under the car) and the ratetching locking mechanism tends to slip and thus is only partially helpful. Would buy again but 2 of them in case the snapring fails yet again.

Thay work great and no problem with them slipping off while installing.

Needed a special tool to unclip hoses from the heater valve as they use a special hose clamp which you can't squeeze together using standard pliers. These done the job brilliantly and was able to remove the hoses and also reuse the clamps. The tool also has a lock so once you squeeze to make the clamp loose, it will hold it so you can remove the hose. Once you're ready to fit hoses back on, have it in place and release the lock to reclamp the hose. Good quality tool and highly recommended for your toolbox.

Got this hose clamp plier set and it’s super handy. Used it to take off the intake pipe clamps on my VWs and it worked really well. Way easier than normal pliers thanks to the ratchet lock, though sometimes it’s a bit tricky to unlock. Feels solid and makes the job a lot faster. Would def recommend for anyone working on cars!
