These are very nicely packed and have a nice scent and seem a lot higher quality than others I have bought. They are "low smoke", which is probably a good thing, but also probably the reason for the low score. Although they do smell nice you practically have to shove them up your nose to be able to smell them (i wouldn't recommend doing that, especially when they are alight) . As I write I have 2 burning in a very small room (about 8 x 10) and I can hardly smell them. Shame really. Maybe if I light 4 of 5 at the same time.....

I have been leaning toward Japanese incense vendors lately because the quality is very good. The Indian brands are also OK, but they are a bit too strong, and the smoke (from the bamboo core) is overwhelming. On the other hand, Japanese brands are very clean, very aromatic, and very low in smoke dispersion. I have found all the fragrances of this Nippon Kodo vender to be excellent. The fragrances are very pleasant, the smoke is minimal, and the packaging and quantity are just about the same as their competitors. Not only that, but they are 30%-50% less expensive than the more popular Japanese vendors! I would highly recommend this vendor if you are serious about quality and maintaining a good, clean environment in your home. They have become my 'go to' vendor for my meditation incense needs.

I love these incense sticks. Unique, pleasant and not too strong fragrance with very low smoke.

This incense reminds me of the beach, it doesn’t make too much smoke which is amazing for my sensitive nose
