NETGEAR Nighthawk RAX36S - AX3000 WiFi 6 Dual-Band GIGABIT Wireless Router

Every single Netgear router I get just gets better and better than the last. This one was the first time I set one up using the Nighthawk app and it was completely plug and play. The signal is strong without any drops across my home (1500 sq ft cape cod, plus basement). It has a longer range than my last router as well. We have an old home with the original aluminum siding panels, which can cause issues for wifi when outdoors, but this had zero issues reaching out into our backyard on the 2.4 band. I'm sure for more modern homes, it would be even better, but those of us with metal or brick? This will do nicely.

Set up is pretty easy if you're familiar with networking, and are good with actually reading and following the instructions. Many people have issues with the router coming online because the modem needs to be power cycled in order for the router to be identified by the modem. The main reason why I am giving this device 2 stars is because it falls short when it comes to signal strength and well isn't that what is most important? I had a 5 year old Netgear router that conveniently is no longer being supported which is why I bought this new one that is supposed to be "better." I have to say my 5 year old router works 100 times better. I live in a 1500sqft home and I have issues with signal strength. The unit is located in the same spot as the old unit which is central to my house, but have issues reaching my ring doorbell. Does the signal reach, yes but every time I try to look at my live feed it buffers and lags to come into focus. IDK I guess this is one of those situations where "you get what you pay for". Regardless you'd think how far technology has come that this unit would be sufficient enough for my home per the specs. And to add some context; again I live in a 1500sqft home, have a total of 10 devices connected at a given time which is less than half of the devices they say can connect, and I have spectrum high speed internet of 500/20. Lastly one of the other reasons I gave it 2 stars is Parental Control does not work at all its been 1 week since my purchase and technical support hasn't been able to fix the issue...as far as I am aware this issue with parental control not working has been going on for so long. I found a post from 2 years ago with someone saying they have the same issues I am having now in 2026. I also read a few people actually paid for this service and them came to find out it hadn't actually been working properly, all in all I would say to stay clear of this device for two main reason, weak signal strength and if you need parental control. Again I think this unit just doesn't meet the value for money mark.

works exactly as expected easy to set up if you follow the instructions. you do need to download an app on your phone.

I went from the rax30 to the rax36s and to my surprise the rax36 works better. less connection drops and better output. My house has plaster walls, which makes the signal weaker. But this wifi router does the job. setup was quick. even without using the app. the thing I did notice is the speed to the closest tv was slower than the ones that are further away. but everything works as intended. Well worth the price. so I bought another one as a backup

2200 sq ft house, two stories with strong signal throughout. easy to set up out of the box, plug and play and follow the instructions on the browser when you start it. provides strong signal more than 100ft outside the home. capable of handling multiple simultaneous streams easily.

Took 5 minutes for internet to work when every you restarted it. Had a lot of nice options but the setup took for ever and I didn't like the app.

Finally, a router that can handle 15+ devices consistently without dropping connection. Tried several routers that weren't up to par, before finding this one.

Very nice router, nice signal, good advanced settings. But it came with configuration of another person and license for software was used already (1 day left of it)
