**Q: Where is it made?**
A: I don’t know but don’t buy it. It’s crap. I bought a new one at home goods.

**Q: what is the diameter of the dowel rod?**
A: 3/4 of an inch to 1 inch.

**Q: Does this have only the center post for the paper towels or does it also have the 2nd part that sticks up to prevent the paper towels from unrolling?**
A: It does not have any mechanism to stop the paper from unrolling aside for the friction of the contact between the base of the stand/holder and the bottomed of the paper towel.

**Q: does the rod detach from the base or is it one solid piece ?**
A: The rod detaches from the base. 2 separate pieces.
