Product Description Romantic comedy starring Uma Thurman, Colin Firth and Jeffrey Dean Morgan. Patrick Sullivan (Morgan) is a happy-go-lucky firefighter in New York, looking forward to his impending marriage to Sofia (Justina Machado). When Patrick discovers that his fiance recently sought counselling on the radio from therapist, Dr. Emma Lloyd (Thurman), who advised her to break off her engagement, he decides to get revenge on Emma. With the help of his neighbour, he hacks into the State Department and registers himself as being married to Emma, something that doesn't go down too well with Emma's fiance, Richard (Firth). From .co.uk It’s not a romantic comedy that’s going to set the world on fire, but The Accidental Husband has enough in its locker to give you an easy night in front of the television. The Accidental Husband pits Uma Thurman as a radio talk show host who, in the course of her programme, takes a call from a bride-to-be. One chat later, and the caller has dumped her fiancé (played by Jeffrey Dean Morgan), and he’s not too happy about it. To get her back, he engineers things so that he’s married to her without her knowledge, and the rest of the blanks you can probably fill in yourself. While the premise is forced and a little muddled, The Accidental Husband nonetheless entertains perfectly well, primarily due to the work of its cast. Thurman is in fine form here, and Jeffrey Dean Morgan is certainly one to watch too. It was a wise move too to bring in Colin Firth to firm things up as Thurman’s existing boyfriend. The Accidental Husband never has pretensions about ripping up the romantic comedy formula, and as such contents itself with offering a perfectly amiable way to spend an hour and half. You might not remember too much about it, but you’re more than likely to have enjoyed it. --Jon Foster

Nasty
Disappointing and distasteful romantic-comedy. Outstanding actors, yet it just does not work, it simply lacks any on-screen magic which may well be due to the extremely nasty and dodgy themes going on in the story. Legitimises very unethical behaviour; and the idea that a woman should fall for a guy that behaves in such a sociopathic way to try to mess up her life is extremely offensive. The director ought to feel ashamed of themselves for dressing up the underlying issues with a sugary coating to make it seem okay behaviour. As such the lines seem forced, nervous and overtly self-conscious, the characters behave unbelievably and it all adds up to a very bad film. One to avoid.

Above average Rom-Com
Okay, so we all know what to expect from a Rom-Com but often they disappoint. This one didn't.Uma Thurman is a great comic actress, I loved her in The Truth About Cats and Dogs, and she shines in this, too. There was chemistry between Thurman and Morgan (who is IMHO v. attractive) and I think Colin Firth played the neurotic editor/fiance in a beautifully understated way.On the down side, the script wasn't packed full of great lines, but it had charm and I found it much more engaging than some other rom-coms, like The Proposal or Two Weeks' Notice. The storyline about her relationship with her father was a little two dimensional. And it didn't ring true when Thurman introduced Firth (fiance) as her brother. I'm pretty sure most men would say, 'Ugh? What d'you mean? I'm not your brother...' You can only get away with it in the movies, I guess.

who plays the 'real love interest' is tempered by the amazing Colin Firth
Fabulous fabulous film. Buy it and watch it over and over again. Jeffrey Dean Morgan, who plays the 'real love interest' is tempered by the amazing Colin Firth, to give it balance. But who wants balance in love? We want smouldering eyes, don't we ladies - this film is incredible. I just wish they would release the soundtrack as the music, especially the indian end theme music is truly haunting and beautiful. (just like Jeffrey Dean Morgan). Release the soundtrack - please!

Lovely feel-good escapist nonsense
The ridiculous plot doesn't stand up to much scrutiny but that's more than made up for by the charm of the performances - not just Uma Thurman and Javier Bardem lookalike Jeffrey Dean Morgan, but Colin Firth with his compulsive eating, Sam Shepard at his wryest, and a host of scene-stealing minor characters. There's a lot of humour and originality at work - the "Indian barmitzvah" scene is fabulous - and the AR Rahman tunes in the soundtrack are a nice touch - plus any film which features Nouvelle Vague's version of Ever Fallen In Love With Someone.. is all right by me!Frustratingly at times it feels like an edited-down version of a longer tilm and you wonder how many gems were left on the cutting-room floor, but there is so much to enjoy here and it's not just those of us who dream of being fed cake by a gorgeous fireman who will watch this over and over again..

Accidental Husband
I made my boyfriend goto the cinema with me to see this film when it was first released. He liked it too, though wont admit it...Its a proper chick flick, good story. The main guy in it is gorgeous. This woman goes to get a licence to get married and finds out that she's already married due to someone hacking the authorities computer. She has to find the guy she's married to to get a divorce so she can marry her boyfriend. He finds it hard to believe and thinks she has lied to him. The guy she's married to knows who hacked the computer. He finds it amusing that she's found him and he winds her up... She gets herself in some sticky situations...You will have to buy it to see the rest of the story...

Girl's Night Film
This film is fine for a Friday night in with your sister/girlfriend. It's quite funny in places, a predictable story nicely done and quirkier than your average rom-com film. I liked Colin Firth's role, he played it very well indeed and stayed true to the character making the guy believable in his actions. Uma Thurman was just having fun playing one of those highly intellectual people who don't really know that much about the real world but love it when said world hits them square on the jaw. Jeffrey Deaver is a sweetie all through.Just enjoy!

Basic
It’s not the best movie in the world, very simple and predictable plot and doesn’t have much going for it. I can’t complain too much though because I only bought it for Jeffrey Dean Morgan and he is great as always.
