Very nice machine with a maintenance tip
This is a 2 part review. The first from my wife, the primary user. The second from myself, with a maintenance tip. Having recently started making smoothies, it was time to get an appliance smaller than our full sized blender. The Nutribullet was the perfect choice. It blends even things like nuts and dried fruits easily, and I like the fact that I can drink it right from the blending cup. Having the guide as to how to layer the different foods was helpful - lighter things on the bottom, and building up from there. It now sits on our countertop, taking up less space than the blender. I use it regularly and would recommend it highly! One morning, the unit would start then stop. After inspecting it, the only problem that seemed possible was that the cup was not fully engaging into the insert and twist mechanism. The white levers, at the insertion points, felt resistant to being depressed so that the cup could be twisted, thus starting the motor. I worked those levers up and down with a finger. Two of them took more force to depress than I thought was reasonable, but the machine was not working as it was. After getting all 3 levers to move up and down freely, I sprayed a bit of dry lubricant into their channels, and worked them up and down again. Problem fixed. My guess is that the channels got gunked up enough so that the cup couldn't be bottomed out at the insertion points. Now knowing the problem, it would take less than a minute to do this maintenance. I hope this is of some help.

Fantastic Purchase!
I've been using this for about six months now and am completely satisfied with it. It works flawlessly and cleans up easily. This was a fantastic purchase and I'd make it again.

So far, really good! Passes all my tests and a very peculiar one.
So I was tired of using my Oster xpert series blender (a huge big 40 oz jar) to blend just a serving or two of drinks. Its still an excellent blender and surpasses many others. However, I had a small one that my parents gave me until someone let the cup fall or something and it broke. It had the blades inside the cup, they were not removable but it was still good. More basic than this one for sure. Good while it lasted but I started missing it more and more. This one crushed all my expectations, literally and figuratively speaking. Easy to assemble, smart design of cups (the on the go one which is like a smaller thermos I would use to portion the stuff I would prepare) and the lip ring so I can drink straight from these is just a lifesaver. IN colombia we have a nice hot chocolate replacement which is healthier and more energizing, an ancestral recipe called chucula, which has 7 pulverized grains and or legumes: Corn, beans, peas, chickpeas, lentils, broad/fava beans and enriched wheat and is often sweetened with a bit of cane sugar or even stevia. It comes in tough hardened, oven baked and cooked shaped balls and can be had hot or cold. I wanted some, so I had soy milk at room temperature and put that plus one of these chucula balls in. Then this bad boy started cranking for almost a minute and then it was all great. The milk foamed up, the chucula loosened completely (despite it being really loud as it hit the plastic I guess) and the best part... I could drink it right then and there after it was prepared. I was going to warm it up some but was so tempted I just had to have it. So yeah, really happy with this purchase. Props!

Leaking after one month, but a positive update!!!
I loved my blender until I didn't. I used it to make smoothies and it operated as intended. It was great. Then one day the sealing ring came out when I unscrewed the blender. It was difficult to get back in, but doable. It has leaked ever since. I cared for the blender as intended. It had not been used excessively and was exactly one month old the day it quit working correctly, so I cannot return it. I am not a happy camper. I called Nutribullet and they are sending a new blade unit! And, fyi, not that I did this, but you are never to try and clean around the gasket, or take it out. I've seen youtube videos saying to do this, but this unit is made to stay sealed. You should replace the blade unit every six months. Also, if you clean it by running blender with soapy water, make sure it is just warm water, not hot. This unit is not made for HOT.

Excellent with some minor limitations!
This thing is nice and small, does not take up a lot of space, which I love as I live in a very tiny home I have to share with 3 others. I used it immediately after the package was dropped off. This item probably works great for soups and nuts but I tried to make sorbet and it was a challenge. Doable but not a straight shot. The problem is that the mixer mixes, the liquid splashes onto the side, then nothing gets mixed until you mix it up. I had to open and manually mix the inside contents a few times before it fully blended. The item came with instructions and it was very easy to figure out and set up. There’s also a 1 year warranty.

Buyer beware!!!
I've owned this blender for 2 years now. I use it twice a day so I'm very familiar with it at this point. This blender will go through 3 phases of failure. First is the rubber gasket. I don't know what the cause is, but for the first 6 months or so, the gasket will get sucked into the mixing cup when you unscrew and remove the mixing blades. So you'll be constantly fishing the gasket out of your beverage or whatever it is your mixing. The second phase is the deterioration of the plastic mixing sprocket and the plastic gear that it connects with. This is the black sprocket on the base of the machine that turns the black gear that connects to the blades. For some reason, whether misalignment or just poor design, this plastic sprocket and the plastic gear it connects with will start to deteriorate and you'll see black particles and notice that the edges of the sprocket look worn and the edges no longer look "factory fresh". At this point, you'll enter the third phase of failure. This is where every other time you mix something, regardless of how well you attach the mixing blades, the mixing attachment will unscrew itself from the mixing cup while you're blending and you end up with half your beverage leaking into the base of the mixer and flying out of the seam of the mixing cup, which is no longer firmly attached to the blade part. In short, this mixer has been nothing short of disappointment, so buyer beware.
