Works for my vegan jambalaya
I've never used actual fish sauce, so FWIW, this stuff works for me. When I need fish broth, I use veggie broth and add a splash of this stuff. Does it smell fishy? No. To me, it smells like concentrated soy sauce with a really rich flavor. Be careful not to use too much. It can be overwhelming. It adds the right kind of umamy to my vegan jambalaya., which is basically a regular jambalaya recipe where I replace the meat/fish with TJ soy chorizo, extra firm tofu, and meatless diced "chiqin". The vegan fish sauce just adds a little extra, over just veggie broth.

I wish I could give it minus star. This is the most terrible vegan fish sauce I ever ate. Water and ton of salt?

Really happy this product exists. Made vegetarian Pho yesterday, having this "fish sauce" really helped my broth develop. Soup was great! So happy I found this!
