It worked!
It worked as advertised. First try and no problem, but this isn't the first time I've gone through a SIM chip upgrade. The chips are tiny and you need to have nimble fingers. It's best to do the job on a clean tabletop. If you accidentally drop the SIM chip, it's like looking for a contact lens. May the odds be with you.

Updated After Finally Getting It Set Up
This is a replacement for a lousy review which I had previously wrote and Amazon put up. Installation was fine. However, note that AT&T provides just data only plans for tablets among their prepaid plans. The tablet recognized the card without a problem but said the phone number was unknown. Activating the tablet for mobile data and getting a phone number required technical support on my part and more technical support to register my data only plan. All in all it took about four hours to get it all setup but the plan is now registered and good to go. Their prepaid data plans start at $35 a month for 15GB of 5G? speed mobile data if you pay by the month. You can reduce it to $25 a month with 20GB data a month if you pay for a year $300 up front. The $35 a month plan is about the same cost as my phone's prepaid plan but it includes calling and texting. With the data only plan the phone app on the tablet is good to use over wifi if you pair it with your phone. After pairing it with your phone you can make and receive calls from the tablet provided the phone and tablet are connected to the same WiFi router. I haven't tried it but I would imagine this includes video calling. However, I can not text from the tablet or receive texts because the plan is data only. I also could not pair it with my phone for texting like I can for making and receiving calls. I am not sure of the reason. The Samsung texting app does not appear to be available in the Samsung store for the Galaxy Tab A11 + and I can not pair the Google texting app with my phone like I can with the phone app. ISTM $35 a month of 15GB of high speed data is a bit expensive. Paying $300 up front for a year while working out to only $25 a month for 20GB of high speed data is more reasonable but the up front $300 STM to also be a bit much. Unless you are really into the AT&T eco-system and want to use the tablet on the go without bothering having to find a suitable wifi connection or like at the beach, in the park or camping I can not recommend getting a AT&T prepaid data only plan for your tablet. All you are getting is a bigger screen version of what you can get on your phone without texting capability and limited phone capability.
