Complete Quality
I have several Bose headphone including the QC30 and have recently purchased the SoundSport Free. My thoughts after a month: Weight. Some speak of them as being heavy in the ears, this is not the case. I have relatively small ears and these fit well and do not protrude as much as people claim. They seal well, the wing tip supplied are by far the best I have used with many similar products. Even after a whole day listening these are fine. I don't do the gym but do walk my dog, there is no wind noise, they do a great job at isolating ambient noise. Battery Life. Superb, I listen all morning, put them back in the case while I eat lunch and they are good to go for the whole afternoon. The simplicity of the charging via the case is a dream, the magnetic recess which holds them in the case is a nice design. Some say the case is too large but I have not found it all bulky in the front pocket of jeans an chinos. Sound Quality. For me this is the most important factor, I follow the ethos of testing headphones by listening to tracks I know well, and I have done this with these, they offer very crisp clear audio, warm and very pleasing depth with good bass, a very powerful soundstage, there is a purity to them that I think is beyond compare with many more expensive wireless earphones and earbuds. Style & Build Quality. The colours on offer are funky, the buttons are quite small but easy to get used to but they are definitely not so hard that you have to remove them from your ears to use the options. I very easily updated them via the Bose support site to the latest software upgrade, it was a necessary upgrade for phone-call quality and a doddle to do. Overall - This is a quality product that will hold its place in the wireless earbud market for a long time to come. There are clearly Bose lovers and hater, if you are a hater, you are unlikely to be reading this review, for the lovers, adding these to their range has been a triumph. Expensive, maybe, but quality always is.

Great earphones!
Bought these earphones some two months ago having waited for them to come out in the uk. Looked at many different completely wireless earphones first, but all seemed to have one problem or another (signal drops etc). So far i’m really impressed! I run and use the gym with these, when in the gym, the connection stays solid even when I excercise with my phone on the floor. When running, the earphones have never fallen out or even felt like they would, they ‘wiggle’ a bit but this causes no problems. I run with my phone on an armband or just with my watch and the connection to both has been rock solid. Sound quality is really good, probably better than I really need for excercise! Although I have to admit that the volume is not as high as I might hope (if a class is on in the gym, their music can be heard even at full volume) but when running they really are loud enough and allow ambient noise in making them safer to run with. I even ski’d with them and they were spot on! I tend to use them for about an hour at a time and never get a low battery, can’t confirm the 5hrs quoted though, can’t deny it either! Finally size, when I have them in some people comment on a ‘Frankenstein’ resemblance, but I believe they are smaller than most. The charge case is amazing, from the photos I expected a case around the size of a glasses case, but it is much smaller. Very happy and perfect for my use.

Fantastic sound! Stays in ear, love them! Only issue "bouncy" feeling running with them
I have been using these now in the gym for about a week and let me start off by saying that I really do love these!! Totally recommend them and that's why I have given them 4 stars as there is a little issue with them I will explain later! The pairing was really easy, and they just worked great with my iPod Nano device. The sound quality for me is awesome and even those these are not noise isolation they do a really good job! When I am in the gym and have the volume up on them I dont hear any of my surroundings. I am not a runner, so only use these for gym workouts and while weightlifting but they honestly are superb. So.. what didnt I like about them? The only gripe I have with these is they stick out a bit from the ear. This isnt a big problem until you do any sort of running. Soon as you start running with them there is a "bouncy" feeling in the ear. They never fall out and they have a very good tight fit for me unlike other brands I have tried before. You do get used to the "bouncy" feeling and start ignoring it after 5-10 mins but could have been avoided if the design was more flush with your ear or the weight of the ear piece got reduced. Also after the firmware update I did the left earbud stopped playing sounds through it. This annoyed me for ages until I held the bluetooth button in for 10 seconds to clear the devices list from the Bose, then I cleared the pairing from my iPod nano. After I did a new sync everything started working again and has been working find since for a few days now. So looks like the left bud got out of sync from the master right side some how. But before you send them back cause of this issue just re-sync them and see if it helps. So overall, if you are not a runner or dont mind the "bouncy" feeling in your ear then I would recommend them! Yes they are expensive but Bose quality is defiantly shown in this product.

Connection frustrations with Bose Quality Sound
Update after a few weeks: they are ok. Decent sound but let down be frustrating connection issues. Worst thing is connecting them to one device then leaving that device turned off and hoping to use these headphones on another device but they keep trying to connect to the last device despite pressing on the button for them to connect to something else. That alone ruins the enjoyment for me as I often use them for my laptop but try to connect to my iPhone when I go to bed and it is a nightmare trying to get the darn things to stop trying to connect to my laptop. OMG! I tried another brand of in-ear headphones and they promptly went back in the box and back to Amazon. Why did I waste my time on anything but Bose? Bose SoundSport Free are AMAZING! Exactly what you'd expect from Bose. I've not been this pleased with headphones since I bought wired SoundSport in the past and the amazing QuietComfort 35. The ONLY thing that lets these down slightly is the pressure required to press buttons and the terrible Bose Connect app (which I was already familiar with because of having Bose QuietComfort for a few years). Come on Bose... Why does the app have to be so basic? Take a look at the brilliant Jaba app! Why can’t it include an EQ that sends sounds preferences to the earphones so that it applies to all music regardless of the app the user is using? And why oh why does it take over an insane length of time (over an hour on a 200mbps connection) to download an update?

Arguably the best around at present
I tried other wireless earbuds with varied success’s. it wasn’t until I got the Bose SoundSport Free that I finally got what I wanted a pair of completely wireless Bluetooth earbuds. I have 7 cats 2 British SH and five Burmese. Having any wires around them is counter productive as they have an evil fascination with chewing lumps out of the wires. Enter Bose they connect automatically with my MacBook Pro laptop, my iPhone 7, my iPad 6th gen and amazingly with my older iPad 3rd gen!! And because they aren’t noise cancelling I can actually have a conversation if required. They are comfortable to wear they weight 14 grams compared to the Jabra 65T I tried, they weight a whopping 340 grams! and my ears felt every minuscule part of each gram. They also have a feature in the app to track the last place your earbuds were at. Not GPS but providing they haven’t been moved they’re easy to find and will even make a noise if programmed. I was lucky to get them on Amazon for £152 even though the retail price is recommended to be £169.99 There is no need to buy a charging case as they come with their own charging case. Each charge lasts 5 hours and a facility for a quick 15 minute charge will give you another 45 mins of play. They come with 3 sizes of earbud cradles S,M & L you can buy others direct from Bose with no extra shipping costs.

Amazing sound and comfort, but not the most subtle.
Have to say that at first sight I thought they were too heavy and bulky, sticking some way out of my ears so I didn't think that they'd be for me. However having played them for a fair bit of today I have to say that they are fantastic! I changed the ear clip to a better size for me (3 included), downloaded the bose connect app and followed the easy instructions to pair. It's worth noting that phone calls only come through the right earpiece, but this is stated in the manual and not a fault. Also once they go into standby mode (you can set the time for this in the app according to personal preference) you need to click buttons on each earpiece to re-pair them, not just the right one, which may explain some of the issues raised in other reviews about the left earpiece not working. Early days I know, but so far so good and in summary they are really comfortable, and sound amazing. There's no noticeable movement in the ear when I'm moving around, although I have not tried to exercise in them yet. They also seem extremely well made and robust. Just a word of warning though, if you are looking for something small and subtle these are probably not for you.

Great audio but these fail on really basic connectity. TV audio lag / lip sync problems!
Ok the sound on these is amazing, very comfortable and i love the charging case etc. But the negatives far outweigh the positives and for £169 wireless earphones they will be going straight back and here's why : I use a 3rd party bluetooth transmitter, a TT-BA01UK, which is plugged into my TV's headphone socket. This has been working flawlessly with a really old pair of Sony MW600 bluetooth wireless earphones. No latency, lag or lip sync issues whatsoever. This transmitter only cost me £16.99 and its been great! I wanted an upgrade on the sound though, so thought spending this much money might be OTT but the sound is great, however, using the same setup i get terrible lag and the lip sync is completely out, almost by a second so its completely useless for watching TV and that was half the reason i got these. There is no feature on my TV to change the audio delay and if they work with my other bluetooth earphones i see no reason why i'd need to anyway? The other problem, i pair these with my laptop running Windows 10 and i only get sound out of the right ear just like if it were a phone call, my laptop thinks it a handsfree mobile headset not wireless headphones, so films etc sound terrible! Again, my trusty and very old MW600 worked correctly and had no issues, so how can a much newer and much, much more expensive product not cope with such a basic connection like his? Surely Bose didn't presume everyone would just be pairing these to a phone and nothing else??? These are bluetooth and this is supposed to be one of the benefits in that you can connect a mulitude of devices to each other isn't it????.... I'm very disappointed. I did check all the reviews relating to this and it was a mixed bag really, so i didn't know what to expect. I would recommend this is you're only going to use them for music, but for anything else like tv or video i'd avoid them completely! It's simply a case that they've released this product without testing them in all connection scenarios first and from such a big name as Bose that's pretty damn shocking!!! This isn't a software fix, they really need to get these redesigned and manufactured so that they work properly and include some low latency hardware like aptX-LL! There are a lot of posts on the Bose community forums, but there are no solutions just a lot of people complaining about the same experiences.. One last grumble and like others have said, these do protrude out of your ears quite a bit, so unless you want to look like a hipster come tattoo artist with dodgy earrings, that might bother you too.. There's no way i'm spending £169 for them just to use only with my phone!

Amazing
The sound quality on this is exactly what you pay for, in my honest opinion. They are, by far, the best earphones I have ever used, and this is helped by the fact that you'd almost forget they were in your ears! The bass is tasteful, kicks punch hard, and vocals are mesmerising. Though there isnt any noise cancelling, I've still rated it as 3 stars because, at medium volume, the music doesnt drown out the outside world nor vice versa. This makes it perfect for running or cycling since one of the bigger dangers is not hearing the cars in your environment. Only 3 because it would be nice to have options (they wouldn't be used exclusively for excersise). The volume control is button based, no inaccurate scroll wheel so you can never land exactly on your preferred volume. However the volume buttons are quite stiff, and require you to grip the whole earpiece in order to get the necessary leverage on them. TLDR: Definitely worth the money.

Love them for exercising.
I am a sound freak and these totally have almost the same sound power and quality as my bigger Bose Quiet Comfort 25. The sound is very rich and balanced, you definitely get a powerful bass, and battery life is more than you will ever need. You get 5 hours on the Earphones and 10 hours on the charging case, which will be more than enough even if you listen to a lot of music. I bought them mainly for working out, so I can definitely tell you that they are amazing and will never get out of your ear, since they accommodate really well and tight but comfortable to your ear. I use them also for high speed running, and they do a great job at staying where they should, they haven't ever come even near to being knocked off my ears, they just stick to them. Range is great, I think you can get a full 10 meters out of them. There came a point where I just left my phone at one of the center machines at my gym, and walked around with my Bose SoundSport Wireless all around the gym, and there were no signal problems, the music continued playing with no problem, and I can tell you that the gym is considerably big. I am a big Bose fan, and they have never disappointed me. You totally get what you pay for. So if you love to exercise while listening to extremely high quality audio, this is your go to.
