FoxAlien CNC Router Machine XE-PRO with Ball Screws, 400W Spindle 3-Axis Engraving Milling Machine for Wood Aluminum Cutting Upgradable to Linear Rails

This is my first CNC machine, so I’m a newbie to working with these. I’ve had the machine almost a year and I recently ran into an issue where the Y axis motors were working opposite of each other. I reached out to the customer service department at FoxAlien and they provided me with some troubleshooting options. They said that if that didn’t work, to let them know and they would send me a new motor, which ended up being the case. They got it shipped out in a timely manner and I was able to get it swapped out and tested for proper operation. All is good once again. I appreciate Joe in the customer service department for his timely assistance.

This cnc arrived in working order with no damage. Amazon failed to deliver on the Sunday they scheduled my for. I waited all day as to not have this expensive item sit outside. Amazon never fulfills anything they schedule for Sunday delivery in West michigan. The cnc was easy to assemble with great instructions.

I purchased this CNC as my first hobby CNC Machine. I am decently familiar with CNC routers from my job, so it's pretty similar! I would recommend paring it with Vcarve and GSender as this Machine is GRBL based and uses .gcode files.Setting the machine up was fairly easy, and i would recommend watching the how to set up your XE-Pro by James Dean Designs to get it all set up l. Right out of the box, however, my machine was perfectly square and calibrated perfectly as well. The build quality is more than what you would expect for an "entry level" hobby cnc router which is nice too! The max cutting size is listed incorrectly on the pictures though, as my limit switches make it to where I can cut a 16in x 17in instead of the listed cut limits in the description and photos. Some reviewers state that they have had issues with the motherboards going out or something else going out, but so far no issues after a month of running it. Will update if anything changes! I would say if you are on the fence about buying it, get it! It's a very nice machine to have!

In the world of CNC you need a couple of things! Quality built and good support. Then its up to you to be patient to learn. I spent the extra to get a solid machine! This was well worth the few extra hundred bucks! Then I bought the 80 watt laser and upgrade to the larger format! I like to be creative and think outside the box so I used the laser on low power to do the pie crust! The the spindle to do the golf puzzle! This I did within the first three weeks of purchase! I use Vcarve pro and lightburn! Enjoy

The Fox Alien XE pro bundled with 20 watt laser was delivered on July 22,2024. I have experienced problems with the motherboard, 20 watt laser, and now the 400 watt CNC spindle has quit. When I figured out that the problem was with the Fox Alien product and not me It was September 22. I requested a replacement from Amazon and they said I must go through the company as this outside of the 30 day window. Fox Alien requires that I do my own electrical trouble shooting and finally a new mother board was delivered in October, only to find out that the laser was also bad. A new laser was delivered Nov 4. 2024. Before I could test the new laser the 400 watt cnc router quit running on Nov 10, 2024. Now Fox Alien wants me to troubleshoot the electrical again. I have owned this for 4 months, this has never worked properly, and on 3 separate occasions I have requested a complete new unit as it is obvious that something is very wrong with this particular unit. This unit may never work properly or I may never know how a fully functional, proper working unit should work. What I do know is that I have spent far more time and money trying to sort out a problem that is not mine so that I can at least get some use out of an expensive piece of equipment. (Note working with a Chinese company that is 12 hours different in time is also very challenging)I would strongly NOT recommend any purchases from this company and look very closely at the support you may or may not get from Amazon

Bought this XE Pro to upgrade from my 4040 XE. This machine is a beast compared to the 4040 XE! It is solid and heavy! It takes longer than 30 minutes to set this up but simple and easy just following the pics. After set up, I checked for level and plumb and everything was spot on! I made a throw away spoil board to go on top of the machine bed and ran a 25mm surfacing bit and the cut was perfectly level! I can also tell you that after having the 4040 XE for almost 2 years that Fox Alien's customer support is fantastically awesome! You email them and their back at you the next day! The listing says 220v power. There is a switch on the bottom of the control box that allows you to select 220 or 110. Great little machine!!
