Peruvian organic ginger as robust flavours and nutritious. many countries say they produce organic ginger, but it’s often grown under very few organic standards. “It’s important for consumers to understand that the organic products they buy from Peru, are truly organic. The Peruvian organic ginger is known to be entirely naturally grown and in some cases untouched. Due to the conditions in which the root is produced, we simply don’t need to add many supplements in order to have a quality result. Our ginger is a 100% free of chemicals. We believe that the Peruvian organic ginger has better and more intense taste, color, juice, and is packed with vitamins and health benefits.

ORGANIC ???????
This ginger is mediocre at best. I purchased 2 lbs. When it arrived about 20% was shriveled and not really usable. If this ginger was organic then it would have sprouted. I planted a few of the more plump pieces, about 3-6" clumps, in a mixture of equal parts top grade organic potting soil/composted cow manure/organic vermiculite in large well draining food grade plastic buckets. Placed on my deck in full sun, the soil was kept moist, the tubers were covered with 1/2-1" of the soil. Half the tubers I soaked in filtered water overnight before planting. That was 4wks ago. Now the tubers are just starting to decompose, not a sprouting eye in sight. Also, 2wks ago I put a few tubers in filtered water on the sunny windowsill to see if any sprouting would occur. The water was changed daily. No sprouting. The tubers have started to rot. How can these possibly be organic?UPDATE 10/4/21: On July 15,2021 I repeated the same planting procedure described above that been done at the beginning of June. This time about 3/4 of the planted roots sprouted and grew a little. One root, despite it's beautiful 4" foliage, was too mushy and moldy to eat. After doing some homework related to growing ginger I have to conclude that the first crop failure and less than satisfactory second crop failure has more to do with the fact that I live in a Region 4-5 area than with the ginger not being organic. This Ginger appears to be organic and not irradiated but needs Regions 8-10 to successfully sprout, grow, and thrive. Thus rating changed from 1 star to 4 stars. Minus 1 star due to many of the shrivelled pieces originally received. Will buy from again.

Edit: Fixed bad shipment… last one had mold!!!
Edit: the owner contacted me and reshaped a new batch. While it wasn’t young like the fire batch, the last one did not have mold nor was soggy. I definitely prefer the first order I received a few times ago. However, this “fix” from there mistake as a good fix and they deserve credit for good customer service.************ original post ***********This is my second order. The first batch was perfect. Nice flavor, excellent quality. This batch, not so much. All of these are moldy and the bottom layer has slime. Very disappointed. I understand there are shipping issues right now from overseas, but it is better to not sale a bad product than to sell a bad product and these are very, very bad.If he was looking for repeat business -- which I buy often, I want honesty and quality. I would rather be told they are not good than to be sold a box of mold.... which I am allergic to.

Came dry, no major mold, not soft, excellent flavor/4.5 stars overall & will order again.
I read the reviews before ordering, and the last review I saw where mold was an issue was a year ago, so I ordered 10lbs. The ginger I received came fast(shipped immediately), was in very good condition, not wet, or soft. I only gave it 4 stars, because it was not 5-star ginger, however, if possible, I would give it 4.5 stars. I will absolutely order again. When you order, I strongly recommend going over every single piece, because if there is any mold, and you don't get it out before storing, it will gradually spread to other pieces. I've had this product for about two weeks now, stored in Glad gallon size zipper lock freezer bags, and stored in my refrigerator. If it comes damp or wet on the out side, it needs to be dried off before storing to prevent any chance of mold growth. After a few days, the moisture inside the ginger began slowly evaporate and collect on the inside of the bags, however, this has been minimal, and has not resulted in any mold growth as of this time. The flavor is very potent compared to GMO grocery store bought ginger, has less juice inside(see picture of grated product above), thinner edible skins(for the most part), and most was pretty decent size for organic ginger. Overall, I'm very happy, and will order another 10lbs when this is gone. I primarily use it to grate up for ginger tea with raw honey, and the flavor is spectacular. Really good burn going down, but once it's in you, it will settle your stomach, and give you a nice relaxed warm feeling. I haven't cooked with it yet, but I would not for the most part, hesitate to cook it with the thinner skins on(honestly, peeling a bunch of it would be time consuming, and somewhat difficult because of the shape & size). I will update this review if any future orders come with any significant amount of mold, as sending something like that out to a paying customer needs to be mentioned for the sake of others. I will also at some point, attempt to grow some of this indoors(I've never growth ginger before), and if I get good results, I'll update my review with photos of the product.
