The instructions need to be improved. The images are so small you can’t see what they’re demonstrating. Missing info on how to open and release. But, once you figure it out, it works. Mine started rusting within 2 days (we live ocean side), but it still functioned for the short time we needed it. Didn’t catch the rabbits we were trying to catch. (Apparently, our wild marsh rabbits are not at all interested in lettuce, carrots, celery, or broccoli.) However, we caught an opossum, so I know it works. (Apparently, our wild opossums will eat literally anything a wild marsh rabbit will not.)

the trap door is detached from the trap as the metal ties broke. The material looks steady. However, without the working trap door, this thing won't work. Quite disappointed.

The Trap is easy to assemble but the rectangle support requires a couple of wire ties to keep in place and the trigger rod was not open enough to fit to the trigger panel. More importantly the wire cage allows an animal to reach into the bait and trigger the Trap and remove and eat the bait without going into the Trap. We applied small mesh ” hardware cloth “ to the outside of the Trap around the trigger mechanism to prevent animals from reaching in from the side to remove the bait. We expect it will work well now.

Ididn't even believe it would work when it was delivered, and when I was assembling the trap.To be honest, I mostly figured it out myself rather than following the instructions. Another downside is that releasing the animal isn't easy either, because of how the door is designed. And if I were catching a different animal, I would be scared to open the door. Plus, I used it for 3 days and already the metal has rusted in several places. These are the negatives. But the plus side is that it really works!!! The key is to choose the right food. Because on the first day, I put cabbage, and the rabbit didn't like it. The next day, I added an apple, and a few hours later, the rabbit was already sitting in the cage. I took it far away from the house, and on the second day, I caught another one. I released it in the same place where I released the first one. Let's see how many more rabbits are left.I give to this cage 4 stars . But the quality really needs to be improved.

Pretty easy set up. Wish print size was a little larger on instruction brochure. Now waiting for the little bunny to catch himself and transported to another distant location. It is a family so may have to alter trap location

I've been having problems with raccoons near my chickens and purchased this 51" trap, among others, to help with the issue. As anyone that deals with raccoons knows, they are extremely tough and resourceful critters. I often have raccoons power out of smaller traps designed like this one, but I had a raccoon trigger this trap and proceed to bend and destroy anything it could. The trap held, but you can see it destroyed the handle protecting plate as well as the actuator rod for the trigger plate. I am going to buy another one of these traps.

Out of the box some pieces were out of align and had to be corrected before putting it together. Finally got it set up and the cage is not very sturdy but we went ahead and tried to use it. It was able to trap an animal… a stray cat and not the fox we were after. It took the cat about 30 minutes to pull the back of the cage loose and escape. If it can’t hold a small cat it surely won’t contain a larger wild animal.
