Smoke Amidst the Drumlins (Irish Railway Photographers S.)

There are not many books devoted only to the Cavan and Leitrim railway. There is a good, short introduction to the railway, but the book is mainly a collection of black and white photographs taken during the last several years of the railway in the 1950s, many of which have not been widely printed elsewhere. The railway in the 1950s utiilised engines and rolling stick from several other closed Irish lives which made the line quite interesting. The photographs are not all of locomotives and rolling stock but also include the operation of the line and the countryside through which it operated. This is a good collection of interesting photographs of the last years of one of the lesser known Irish naroow gauge lines..
