Having read the various reviews I decided to give these a try but was prepared for them to have a short life. I will take the advice of a previous reviewer and purchase extra candles as they do burn down quite quickly. It was very easy to put together and although one of the little angels did buckle (easily rectified however) a little when being fitted that was my fault as I was a bit gung ho to begin with and didn't look properly at the instructions on the box. The sound from my set is of a good quality and by no means faint. I would definitely buy these again and may purchase some more this year as small christmas gifts.

I don't normally write reviews, but some of the comments here nearly put me off buying this, so I'd like to add a couple notes for anyone having trouble. 1. Some people complain about the chimes not fitting the holes. The short, hook-like end is indeed flattened a little so that it won't fit through the hole (possibly so that there is no risk of it coming off). However, the long end fits through just perfectly. It's perhaps counter-intuitive to thread it through the hole long-end first, which is where people may be getting stuck. 2. If everything is assembled correctly and the rotor isn't turning, angle the candles slightly toward the central cross to get enough heat rising in the right place to make the rotor turn. Just gently pressing the candles inward a bit should solve the problem. On the occasion when my candles dripped a little, the design of the metal parts that held the candle allowed the wax to burn away from the bottom, with the rotor still turning. One other note: the candles burn quickly, so I recommend ordering more if you plan to light the chime regularly through the Christmas season. This set is identical to what I remember from growing up, and I've been very happy with it.

We used to have a set of chimes which looked exactly like these but which had been made in the former East Germany (yes, we bought them THAT long ago!) They gave years and years of excellent service until time finally took its toll. We had been wanting to replace them for years but had never gotten around to doing so until this year when we saw these on Amazon. We thought, “Sweden - should be good quality!” Shows just how WRONG you can be! The chimes are made of the cheapest, thinnest, most bendy tacky wafer-thin metal you can imagine. I assembled them EXACTLY as shown in the enclosed diagram, set up the four candles provided, lit these and ...... NOTHING! The angels did not turn at all unless I pushed them around! I tried adjusting the angle of the aerofoils, inserted new (expensive, genuine bees wax from Germany) candles but still nothing. In the end, I got so fed up with the piece of junk, it just went in the bin. Do NOT buy this article,

Bought for child number two as number one had been given the same ones by a family member. Personally, I think they’re incredibly flimsy and easily broken, but the kids love them - probably because they’re budding pyromaniacs more than any other reason. They do look pretty, and once up and running, they give off a gentle chiming sound, albeit incredibly quiet. The size was pretty much as advertised, and they were easy enough to construct, but as aforementioned, they are delicate and easily bent.

These angel chimes work great! The instructions aren’t great so I think some people may have put them together the wrong way. Another recent review has described what might be going wrong. Make sure the strikers go through the hole long end first and that they are put in from the inner side of the Angel, otherwise they won’t strike the bell. I also think they are meant to be very thin and delicate so they’re light enough to spin. Lovely for Christmas and give off a nice tinkling sound. Bought the candles in bulk on amazon to get the best deal as they burn fairly quickly. One of my favourite decorations this year! I’m buying more as gifts.

This is a good quality product, thin and light metal but it needs to be for the design. It fit together and works well. My family had one that I loved to build when I was a kid so I was pleased that this product was exactly like I remembered and not a bad quality rip off like so many things nowadays

the chimes themselves are beautiful. Out of the 4 candles that came with it, 1 had no wick and therefore could not be used. Fortunately we bought the chime candles which have the same design box- unfortunately they don't fit very well being too fat for the holders. The candles burn down extremely fast bust we were happy as the chimes worked. Second time round, we used the extra candles we bought and it would not spin. Not sure if it is due to carbon build up on the chimes or whether it is the different candles: in any event very disappointing. On a more positive note, we put the chimes on the windowsill in the kitchen and when the window is open the chimes spin and it is very pleasant.

We had these when I was a kid and I have spent my entire adult life looking for something similar. I'm sure the ones from my childhood had 4 angels, but these have 3 (plus the one on the top), and they fly round, powered by the updraft from the candles, striking the bell and making a very festive 'ting'. The fluted top of the decoration also casts a slightly psychedelic moving shadow on the ceiling which is completely mesmerising. This is very easy to assemble and pretty sturdy too. Having survived very regular use over Christmas, it has been dewaxed and is now packed away for next year. I am so excited to have finally found this after a 20 year search.

Apesar de não ser original, tem um bom acabamento. Mas achei que o pêndulo que toca o sininho, não é pesado o suficiente para o som do sino tocar alto. O som do sino é bem discreto.
