Superman’s newspaper comic strips are among the rarest of all Superman collectibles. This comprehensive series helps remedy that gap in the Superman by bringing back into print every one of the Sunday newspaper strips. The Man of Steel stars in thirteen classic adventures as the 1950s “Atomic Age” comes to a close. Some of the stories are original to the newspaper strip, while others were alternate versions of tales that were simultaneously published in the regular comic books. One of the featured adaptations is “Superman Versus the Futuremen,” written by Batman co-creator Bill Finger, which retells Superman’s origin. This concluding volume of Superman’s Atomic Age Sundays reprints all strips July 1, 1956 to October 11, 1959 Review: Superman in the 1950s - In three years of beautifully colored Sunday Comic Strips, Superman takes on genies, alien invaders, and Old West Villains while dealing with few comic adventures that are more about Lois Lane's antics, a TV host who seems overly interested in learning Superman's secret identity, and the biggest terror of all...being suddenly obese. This is actually a really good book. Most of the adventures are light-hearted, but don't become as goofy as some Silver Age tails would. Superman also shows some real cunning in a few, the genie story is my favorite in this book for that reason. The art is great for the era, and overall I have to say this is probably my favorite collection of Sunday strips since the Golden Age. Review: Great Reading at a Great Price - Great presentation in full color, done in a non-glossy finish. (Won't hurt your eyes) Outstanding artwork by Legendary Superman artist Wayne Boring. Hardcover with dust jacket.

Excellent printing and colors
This book covers part of my favorite era of the Superman Mythos. I feel like a little kid on Sunday morning reading the funnies. If you're a fan of The Silver Age Superman, this is the beginning of it.

The great Wayne Boring--a Super artist!!!
I never had a local paper that carried the Superman comic strip when I was a kid so it is great to have a chance to experience these stories now. You also get to experience them at a size somewhat like you would have expected to see them back then. Unfortunately, newspapers today prefer to ruin the comics by shrinking them. Wayne Boring's Superman is old-school strongman, not the shredded abs and six-packs today's audience mistakes for manliness. His version of the flying Superman- almost running in mid-air, is his signature Superman statement and makes his work stand the test of time. Great stuff from cover to cover!!!

Best Superman artist of all time?
Wayne Boring's drawing embodies the post-Art Decco style of the 1950's: cars with fins and looming skyscrapers, and a universe replete with unknown worlds, all squeezed in a single pane behind Superman flying, standing upright through the depths of space. This was the U. S. A. of Dwight Eisenhower!
