This is a pretty kurta set and I really wanted to be able to give it 5 stars, but I have a couple of issues. Firstly, this is advertised as chikankari, but it’s actually more like hakoba. I have real chikankari kurtas and this is not chikankari. Secondly, the kurta is only partially lined up to the bust line. The lower half that’s not lined is itchy against my stomach when the fabric rubs there. The pants are not lined at all and a bit cheap looking. Thirdly, although the set I received has a tag attached, the sleeve cuffs and hem of the kurta look worn out (see photo). The stitching is not very neat. While these issues caused me to deduct a couple of stars, I do want to say that the white sequins on the kurta make it look a little higher end than it is. Also, the seller enclosed a free gift of small earrings (not at all my taste or style, but it was a thoughtful gesture). Not to sound morbid, but I think this outfit will become my go-to to wear to Indian funerals (in Hindu culture mourners wear white). 🤷🏻‍♀️
